WTH do you live? In Hemet we only felt a little shake.

I used to drive to San Diego often, hell of a drive from Hemet. I speed so I always got there faster then mapquest predicted, it was like "WOOT" I just raced Mapquest and I won! anyways I almost didn't feel it as I was walking through my apartment and I never feel slight earthquakes unless im seditary or leaning against the wall or something, otherwise I just feel like my equilibrium is out of wack lol.

They're worshiping the wrong god! Why does most organised Christian religion insist on depicting Jesus as a caucasian man with a caucasian man's features? If he existed at all he would most likely have been of Arabic appearance.

and secondly... Yay I'm not the only one in the cincy area to play FFXI... usually when I talk with someone they look at me weird and ask "oh is that like WoW?" Oh and If anyone was wondering how much this "art"? cost a nice $250k back in 2004...
Off topic. I go down to Cincy about once a month >_> should actually be down there tonight/tomorrow but my car is screwed up right now...
On topic. I lol'd hard at this, he does seem to be pissed. The before and after pictures are just priceless. Oh and I don't mean to be crapping on the religious folks, just something like that is pretty funny =/ Fenrir.Luarania said: Off topic. Made my day. And im not christian, but im a fan of black jesus. But the description even in the anglo saxon bible describes him to fit either of arabic decent or black.
I can't tell you how many times I've driven past this... It's even funnier looking at it this way. The most scientifically accurate guesstimate portrait made of Jesus (taken from cranial and DNA scans of those who lived in the immediate area of the same ethnic background at the same time) is this one, done by a team of Western scientists a few years back.
Of course it was immediately rejected by US fundamentalists as looking "like some crazy Arab." I think its funny that on that site, they have a poll...click yes if you think its a sign
no if it means nothing there is only like a 10% difference between the votes...meaning almost as many people think that it is a sign as they do that it means nothing... Asura.Funkatron said: Rofl... Is it just me or... ? ![]() "The pastor of Solid Rock Church says the church does plan to rebuild the statue."
-.- Looks like they still haven't learned their lesson. More money soon to be wasted. (Quoted from the article in the OP, which is now edited with more detail.) One might think that making a statue out of flammable material with tall metal rods inside it would would attract lightning and cause a fire, but it is obviously sign. Sigh... people these days...

(Quoted from the article in the OP, which is now edited with more detail.) wonder how big the next one will be and what price tag will it carry I agree such a waste of money that could be going to places it's needed. so.... i live right by this >.> the light up LED sign they have says a simple message:
"He'll be back." sigh, it's funny to see, but such a waste of money. Man I really need to drive by and have a good gawk at it! Too bad though, Butter Jesus was such an entertaining landmark.

About 10mi north of me theres this giant Jesus statue that Solid Rock Church built a few years back. After its construction it became a /b/tards wet dream on 4chan, and the subject of many religious jokes/lolimages. Well apparently this storm decided he needed to burn. He was struck by lightning, engulfed in flames and utterly destroyed. http://www.fox19.com/Global/story.asp?S=12649244 I find this amusing. Enjoy. ::EDIT:: For those who have never seen it: ![]() Sounds like some background issues leaking out Oumura... after all, this is no more then some man made statue, nothing more - nothing less. Can you please fill us in on your apparently salacious joy in this simple physical event of nature? Probably has something to do with this thing called "irony". Irony - sure I can see that. But you miss my point still: there is some underlying reason for Ourmura to post and gloat about the event - thats what I'm interested in, Mr. Obvious. ;p Valefor.Endlesspath said: But you miss my point still: there is some underlying reason for Ourmura to post and gloat about the event - thats what I'm interested in, Mr. Obvious. ;p Phoenix.Oumura said: I find this amusing. Wow I live about 20 miles from that church.
Valefor.Endlesspath said: I think I meant more generally then specifically when I made that comment. As in general, some versions of the christian faith tend to erect large statues of "Symbols" for what? Just to do it? I'm pretty sure the church that statue was erected at and the tourists who visited it, dropped to their knees and said a few prayers. But since your obviously on par with Stephen Hawkings give us all a detailed explaination of HOW this isn't even slightly considered Idolisim and while your at it, explain to me the Catholic Church and their hypocrisies.. K THX... p.s. go suck a ***. Valefor.Endlesspath said: Phoenix.Smileybone said: Valefor.Endlesspath said: Phoenix.Oumura said: OK, so roughly an hour or so ago we had some severe storms roll through.
