To be honest a few lighter free weights to work your triceps and biceps would probably be more beneficial. Triceps extensions are probably what you want to do, they don't work the chest and isolate the triceps.

So far, like 2/10 ppl see a possibility that the thing actually works & could give a legitimate work out.... the other 80% think it's a worthless POS.

I think his words are being misinterpreted/misconstrued or just read-into a bit much. It's more a humourous "omg you really want that thing... -rolls eyes-" reaction he gives. So, please don't assume.

There's no sarcasm punctuation mark, type what you mean unless you're going out of your way for sarcasm (in which case wouldn't be very beneficial here >.>)
As for the product, I think it's a piece of trash and there's better ways to get into w/e shape you're trying to get into, but I wouldn't be mad if you got one anyway >.>

To me, tt's only appealing to those that don't want to "work" to lose weight or stay fit. It's pretty much a waste of money; if you want to get in shape buy something that will actually do that.
Reminds me of that belt they tried to sell back when I was in middle school you put it around your stomach and it's supposed to send impulses to your muscles to make them twitch/jump, so you'd get a 6pack while doing nothing >.>

It sent electrical pulses through your muscles to make it appear as if you're getting a work out "feeling the burn." The pain was suppose to be the "burn" you felt as if working out. lolz
400? hmm I remember $60 and that was CALL NOW AND GET [insert accessory here], a $30 value!
But yea, honestly, from a fitness point of view, I wouldn't, but in the end it is your decision, so do what makes you happy!

Meh, I've always been an aerobics-cardio gal, I just wanted a new option for toning - b/c I hate free weights :/ But, I'll prolly suck it up and use the FREE dumbells at the gym lol.

If it's gonna be her money why not? It's only $20 and if it doesn't work you can tell her "I told you so". And then tease/nag her for the rest of forever.
I'm sure the two of you could find another use for it too if it turns out to be gahbage for its intended purpose ;D

Why would you own this... You could easily by far just find a creative easier way to do this exercise.. and best of all, if your fighting with your spouse... You could easily wrap your hands around your other half and choke the living **** outa them, now that makes for a shake weight!! LOL

I'm sure it'd make a wonderful paperweight.
It looks like another fad to me. Nothing beats a diet and a gym membership. How much effort to put out depends on how much she wants to change her body.
I say make a softcore home movie with the stupid thing.
NOBODY has posted a vid of the SNL skit about the shake weight commerical DVD? LOL...omg that bit was way too funny... somebody plz find it and post it for everybody to laugh at because idk how to post vids lol...

on topic though, that thing is...well just funny lookin...I don't see any reason for the ends to be able to shake...you can get the same exercise from a small free weight by just slowly doing said motion I would think..no reason to have a silly, gimmicky item like that when you can buy regular weights for much cheaper, and there are plenty of exercises you can do to tone isolated parts of the body without losing you chest (think that was the main concern, i was reading the thread really quickly lol)

And ladies, breast are body fat. Pretty hard to spot reduce body fat. Or else everyone at the gym would have at least a 6 pack if not an 8pack. Almost everyone tries to work abs at the gym.
