To Our Fans:

They say lightning never strikes twice, but once again, you’ve proven them wrong.

We are extremely happy to announce that our project, The Silver Lining, will definitely see the light of day!

In a wonderful turn of events, Activision reached out to the Phoenix Online team a few months ago with a desire to revisit their decision regarding The Silver Lining. After negotiations, the C&D has been officially rescinded, and Phoenix Online has been granted a non-commercial license to release The Silver Lining!

Our team is ecstatic about this, and as hard as we’ve worked for 8 years, it’s the tireless belief and support of you, our fans, that has made this possible. We want to give special thanks to the Save The Silver Lining team, who put together and ran an amazing and organized campaign, and rallied our fantastic fans to make a difference. You made it possible once, and now we’ve done what seemed impossible for a second time! The support we received from all of you was amazing and honestly blew us away. We always knew we had some of the best fans out there, but even so, wow! We will always be grateful for your unending belief in us.

And that’s not the only good news we have for you: the first episode of The Silver Lining will be released in just two weeks on July 10th! The long wait is almost over, and we couldn’t have done it without you!

Kings Quest was created by Roberta Williams and produced by Sierra all through the 80's and into the 90's.

it was the first leap from text based adventures (Like Zork) into the same text-based style... but with graphics.
Morphed into an ENTIRE EMPIRE of amazing, unforgettable puzzle/quest games and series all in the same vein
Kings Quest
Space Quest
Police Quest
Hero's Quest
Manhunter
Leisure Suit Larry
List goes on and on and on

Games a majority of us "old timers" grew up beating again and again and again.

Every now and then people push and push for them to bring the series back.
Update it for a new generation
or even re-release the classics.

FINALLY ...someone is doing something with what was once an amazing series...
Long since forgotten.

Theres a reason it's called duke nukem forever <.<;

And its the fanmade unofficial kings quest 9. :D /joy

They've been issues 2 C&D's and they still managed to get enough fan support to have them both rescinded in the end ^^b

Also, i really miss the old point and click games. on a sidenote, They're making a SE of monkey island 2!!!!!! =D

holy wow, lol and it's free? This is great. I think I played 5-7 like 20 or so times a pop when I was a kid trying to progress further and further each time. I remember when I was like 16 and found a guide online to KQ5 and re-installed the *** just to see what happens at the end lol

That is some good news. ^_^ I use to play king's quest, queen's quest, hand of fate, etc when I was growing up. Well made games all- I am hoping this new one will live up to the name.
