I don't think it was intended. I think the server crashed and the persistence mechanic failed, so when it came back up, it was at whatever its last "save point" was for me. Oddly, the exact same thing happened to me the first day of beta, too. Except back then, my character wiped back to a broken state and wouldn't let me leave the starting area until I talked to the quest NPC, which was now permanently invisible. I had to make a new character. Thankfully that didn't happen this time.
Hopefully, they'll fix the BS by March. I'd be more pissed that I paid extra for the CE version, and they don't even have the game functioning correctly.

frien dis pretty pissed off,a nd is only leveling crafting classes for now, until the bug is fixed. theres a rumor that there will be a 5gig update before the 30th, im hoping with every bug known, fixed. then aagin, my friend could be pulling info out of his ***, we will see

My friend is pretty pissed off, and is only levelling crafting classes for now. There's a rumour that there will be a 5Gb update before the 30th of September. Hopefully that will fix all the current bugs. Then again my friend could just be lying.

let's see. Friend claims a 5 gig update will be comming out before the 30th
With it are supposed to come new classes, like Mystic and such. I'm hoping this fixes the bugs as well

In reply to the original post, I hope there isn't a 5 GB Update.. However it mentions on the back of the game's box that you need 5 GB free in the downloads directory for FFXIV, so maybe that is where it came from...
Edit: 5 GB seems a bit much though for an update all at once.

In reply to the original post, I hope there isn't a 5 GB Update.. However it mentions on the back of the game's box that you need 5 GB free in the downloads directory for FFXIV, so maybe that is where it came from...

Remember tho, people in the collector edition, are still in beta. no matter what anyone says. when the retail game comes out, should be the true game. so a 5gig update before then, doesn't seem too farfetched

This is why you dont rush the release date of a game if you want it to be good. Any company that cares about their product and their customers will postpone the date of release to make a better product and the reason I did not preorder FF14. If the fixed the problems before open beta I would have but I feel like they do not listen but this is my opinion.
