since shura haidate can now have +5 str augment (possibly +6 from the +1), would it beat hachiryu as a VS leg piece?

Assuming Shura Haidate +1 and +6 STR augmented, it would boil down to 2 STR vs 5 Attack, so it would depend on whether or not attack is capped. If so, than yes, they would be better than Hachiryu.
nvm

For Smite, I'd assuming I'd take 1 WSC over 5 attack unless I was super high in base dmg and very very painfully low in attack. The acc as well may let you take acc from another slot and add more dmg (voidwalker rly where acc is actually needed)

Off topic, but how are those Voidwalker NMs? I haven't done them yet and I've only been back in the game for about 3 weeks now, but from a short reading I saw a system similar to Abyssea's with abyssite/atma types? Are the atmacites lacking good bonuses like that of RR/VV etc?

So finaly finished my 2x Sara sets. Went in MNK/DNC, BRD/BLM, WHM/RDM (Mule) THF/NIN (buyer) and SMN/WHM (buyer)
Good News: Trophy Dropped twice (10mil zing)
Better News; My Smite Build dont look gimp anymore, Sara put out. she put out all night. 2/3 drop on Hachi legs. (one for me, one for a lucky buyer who paid 20 mil for them and provided pop set)

Using Atheling Mantle instead of cerb+1. I get much more frequent 5-6k spikes with Atheling.

edit: no beir+1 even though i could afford it. I dont think the extra 1 dex and str is worth 2 million gil more than the NQ

So many builds have been posted now, and alot has already been answered in this thread tbh, you really dont need anyone posting anymore vsmite builds to know what you should be using.

No such thing as an optimal build in a game with various battle/fight situations.

Optimal is defined as being able to achieve the best result under a specific situation, and since you have not specified one, no one is going to direct you to one.

The best I can give you is(Inside abyssea):

uncapped attack(beefy mobs):
weapon/thew bomb.
Shura+1(3%ws/6att)/Ire+1/VulcanHQ/Brutal
Tantra+2/H.mitts/Epona/Pyrosoul
Atheling/Beir+1/Hachiryu/Tantra+2

*note: att Ear. vs str(4) ear may differ on race/merits, you might want to manual calculate and see how many wsc you are getting from that.

uncapped acc:
Weapon/Tantra
Shura+1/Gorget/kemas/Brutal
Tantra+2/H.Mitts/Epona/Mars'
Atheling/Anguinus/Shura+1(6str)/Tantra+2

decent weaker mobs:
weapon/tantra
Shura+1/Ire/vulcan hq/brutal
Tantra/H.mitts/Epona/Pyro
Atheling/Beir+1/Shura +1/Tantra

Exactly, what is optimal? Xzeikx if you did a bit more reading you'd come to the same conclusions for builds as Hito just posted.

When one says "whats optimal ws build?"

Instant reply is what for?...

Oh and Mabrook an improvement on that build wld be fenrir's earring, not sure on ur other choices personally tho.

Is this your current build or your "doing it right" build? Just wondering why you would put usu pants, maats cap, and aesir pendant on instead of hachiryu pants, aias bonnet, and a str earring? Also, I've heard (but honestly haven't tested myself) that using both a gorget and a ws belt together doesn't bring the best results. I was under the impression that gorget/bier belt was the way to go.

Mabrook, I thought I read VS was light/thunder aligned. Has that been tested false? (I ask because of gearset you posted) I've been using thunder, would be good to know if that's wrong >.<

** edit ** nvm, got bored and looked it up, apperhently all 3

VS is light based thus: thunder, breeze, wind (if there was), and light ones work for it. Also, STR is superficial.

This is incorrect. Unless you are fighting something like Dragua, and you absolutely need the accuracy, STR in the neck and belt slots will provide better returns on VS compared to WS gorgets and belts.

Also, consider the atmas you are using. The frequency of your double or triple attack rate during VS will decrease the average percentage boost to VS damage from WS gorgets and belts.

In most all situations STR in the neck and belt are the better pieces. Uncommonly, a WS gorget and STR belt if you need accuracy.

This certain topic has been covered in detail earlier in this thread, please refer to page 5.

Edit: Hito pretty much nailed it 8 posts above this one.

yeah a JP paid 20 mil to kill his pop and lot his item. I didn't mistype that lol.

And I just shouted to sell a Loki's for 1 mil and someone said "3 mil if we go now"

Summer gil splurge?

People are shouting in PJ to buy seals. Idk if its NA hour ( i rarely stay up this late) or if its a bunch of kids on summer vacation blowing their allowances, but I like lol.

You can get STR +1~5 on any piece of gear augmented via synergy, not just on Shura legs +1. Hell, it's possible for your Shura legs +1 to get STR +5 and Attack +8 on them. Chances of getting both augments with good statistics at the same time are low. Expect to burn through a ton of tatters if trying for STR on these.

Haven't seen much talk on augmented Byakko's Haidate. Wouldn't crit dmg 4% / STR+6 augmented haidate be a good choice for legs? I'd assume so. :x Just looking from confirmation from the experts here.
