I'm curious about this, too. I know that the balance of my set could have an effect, and that this is just "on paper," but I totally expected Thew > Potestas for WS. For me, though, it was Potestas by a hair - literally one damage.[/quote]

Edit: I got the same kind of unexpected thing when swapping back and forth between Melee Gloves +2 and Heafoc Mitts. I will likely just pick on of the attack only things and one STR thing and call it good. :)


Pretty sure the the +3% WS dmg Shura is #1. Attack, DEX and skillchain damage aren't totally worthless, too.

It is; if you manage to get a DEX augment you'll even have a nice little crit rate boost, which is obv sex for VS--particularly since our crit. rate at 100 TP was dropped by ~5%.

It's unlikely that the boost would be more than 1% given the relatively low amount of DEX you typically see in VS sets.

But does it absorb magic damage?

Rancorous Mantle + Justiciar's Torque unless your attack is capped. Rancorous Mantle + Nefarious if it is capped, and your acc is capped.
Rancorous Mantle + Gorget if your acc+attack is capped.

As for the gloves, can't tell without seeing your whole set. Improve your English though, please. It's almost as gross as your avatar.

Gorget doesn't transfer accuracy to all smite hits now does it?

Gorgets and belts have always transfered accuracy to all hits of every WS.

I don't think you can conclusively say that considering for a very long time we assumed that gorgets did not transfer accuracy to all hits because gorgets do not tranfer fTP to all hits.

It wasn't until a JP went and Fast Blade some crabs that we got a somewhat different possibility because he said his offhand swing had higher accuracy with gorget on. This test also wasn't 100% conclusive.

I think a set like would do great for vic smite no? you gain 8% crit from Athos 2set and Rancor and a bit more from dex unless dex does not conv into crit I could be wrong

Tantra +2 for Impetus up, Toci's when down. Stacking for DEX isn't too good for MNK in VW in my experience.

Edit: Nefarious Neck and WoTG earring(25TP 4ATK) beat Justiciar's and Vulcan.

Athos's set bonus is 3% critical hit rate, and stacking DEX is next to useless unless you know the mob's AGI. Shura Zunari Kabuto +1 is superior to Athos's Chapeau. If your attack isn't capped, you should be using Justiciar's Torque and Rancorous Mantle, and if it is, Nefarious Collar pulls ahead /WAR. Thaumas Kecks are ideal legs, anything above +2 should be best at the moment. Pyrosoul > Rajas. Moonshade Earring > Kemas Earring. Kacura Leggings +1 are better than Melee +2. Obviously, you should be using Tantra Cyclas +2 when Impetus is up.

It appears you didn't think long enough.

And honestly, Melee Gloves +2 are best for Ig/Rex/Harpies, Tantra Gaiters+2 for the same, Kacura Leggings +1 if you can hit 90-95%ACC
