Stargate Universe Cancelled Q,Q

It did seem to start off a bit slower than other stargate series..

and was more dark / drama based..

but the story did seem to take an interesting turn in the last few episodes

sad to see it go

Out of curiosity, how many stargate series have there been? Including this one. It's been around for a while. I used to watch SG1 when I watched TV lol.

3 that i know of.. i never really "researched" it tho lol

Yeah what is amusing is sfy renewed Sanctuary which has pretty much the same amount of viewers... but yeah BS.

Hate it when shows do that... get cancelled right when you are the most interested. I'm still mad about the Terminator series end...

Talk about Debbie Downer. I've actually enjoyed SGU more than I ever enjoyed Atlantis and SGU's plot was actually a lot more believable than SG-1's for me.

I never like that series, SG1 & Atlantis I liked.

I actually kinda got into Atlantis, although Weir for whatever reason made me rage. ;/

Yeah she became part replicator then all the way then human clone and then a computer program then replicator again or something... the show kinda became 1 big attempt to top everything that's happened so far so I kinda stopped watching lol

Holy ***Stargate thread!

Universe was bad compared to SG-1 and Atlantis, but I still wanted to see what happened. Mckay is going to be in the last episode of Universe and he's like my favourite actor ever so I can't wait to see him in action.

Universe fails on two points:

1) The characters are generally unlikeable. The only character I really liked was Greer.

2) Too morbid. In the previous Stargates they've been in WAY worse situations than they are atm, but the people in Universe are so depressed and that annoys me. Man the *** up, explore new planets and fix the *** problem.

I really hope that they make a new season of Atlantis showing them getting back to the Pegasus galaxy seeing as
I'd like a new season of SG-1 too, but maybe 10 years after or so with a new race of aliens hell bent on world domination. Actually that brings me to another thing I dislike about Universe, they don't have one enemy really outside of the Lucian Alliance which annoys me.

Atlantis is still my favourite SG as I love all the characters, Ronon is really awesome, Sheperd and Zalenka are really likeable too. I actually really like Mr. Woolsey too as a leader.

The replicators are awesome though, and I really liked how they tied into both stories. G'oauld are really fantastic villains too, even though Baal annoyed me. The Wraith are kick *** though.

Anyways my 2c on Stargate on a whole.

More stargate atlantis for 2 reasons... Tayla was hot and was always funny to watch her kick peoples *** with sticks... and 2 Todd was epic

That and all the awsome storytelling/character building but as long as those 2 are still there id be happy...

PS after season 5 when they stoped i heard they were going to be making a TV movie to end it off... does anyone know if anything happened about that?

Extinction. It hasn't been cancelled yet but it hasn't been green lighted either. Same as the new SG-1 movie. I hope if Universe gets cancelled they work on it.

What bugs me is the fact that Atlantis had a record number of viewers when they cancelled it. It wasn't failing at all.

Of course they are depressed. They are all alone. With no real hope of every getting home. They never know if they will run out of basic necessities at anytime. Or power. They eat crap all the time lol. It's perfectly natural.

Oh and also SG:U isn't definitely cancelled, they're in talks currently to get it on a new channel.

Not at all. There were other humans there. They could stargate to other planets with food water and people at anytime... they were on a very habitable planet. Things are different when litterally everyday is a fight for survival and you are utterly alone. Especially closed in like that. Fresh air and sunlight are amazing things for fighting depression

Well look at Atlantis, they were under impending attack from the Wraith, they could move planets but couldn't get back to earth, had no shields, understood nothing about the ancient technology in the city and had no way to contact earth for anything. They can even contact earth with the stones in Universe. I can understand being depressed, but it's essentially killed what Stargate is as a series.

I mean even the producers know that as they're promising it to be more light hearted with more planetary exploration in the next seasons lol. Plus WHY THE HELL add a pregnancy and a miscarriage to it that early on? Maybe if it were a few seasons in I'd be more endeared to her, but that early on. blah.

Also the Lucian alliance suck ***.

It's just very human nature. It's part of the reason we can deploy soilders in the middle of god knows where send carriers out for a full year but we wont send a sub out for more than a 2-3 months at a time.

I liked Rush too. Eli was ok to start with, but he's been grating on me a little.

I think Universe could have been much better if they'd added a familiar face as a proper member of the expedition. Like how they added Mckay to Atlantis.

But I'll still watch it, it's Stargate after all.

Was kinda wishing rush would end up taking over... man damn near could run the whole place by himself. He's like the Mcguvyer of that show lol

i haven't really watched much of universe, i've watched all of sg-1 and atlantis though. I has hoping to give it a whirl. What was this it's second season?

It is perfectly reasonable that they would all be super depressed on that ship... being cut off from friends family and what not they could deal with... but there is no sun and no sun meens no vitamin D which makes you go depressed if your short on it :P

It's going to be the original SG-1 team on a mission. Rumours are that it's going to involve Destiny.

At least they will air the last few episodes left of season 2. I'm just really annoyed with the SyFy network in general. They really should just rename themselves to the WWE channel and get it done with.

Well, here's to hoping the next Battlestar series lasts more than 2 seasons!
