I know the game is still new and all but is there an alignment system of sorts out of curiosity? Looking at the class descriptions on the wiki (or one of them atleast) it makes it sound like jedi can fall to the darkside and vice versa for sith... trying to decide trying to decide if I wana give this a go and that was one of them main things that cought my interest so figured I'd ask.

Light/darkside dialogue choices have some effect on the story cutscenes as well as giving you points that'll raise/lower your alignment. E.G. choosing to kill someone might give you 100 darkside points, but sparing them gives you 100 lightside points. Some pieces of gear require a certain tier of light/dark to be equipped, and if your dark alignment is high enough it'll start showing corruption stuff on your character.
All right so it's just a gear and plotline thing then right, if it would swap your allegiance if it passed a certin point is what I was wondering.

Not between Empire and Republic, no. There's a meter, like on many Bioware games, that indicates your balance between light and dark sides, even for non-Force using characters. The cutscenes may vary, and certain items have alignment requirements (can't use a red lightsaber crystal if you're light side, for example). Additionally, like Bioware's single player games, you do have NPC companions, who may approve/disapprove of responses you give. The more affection they have, the more quickly they do quests for you n' such, I think. It does not change your allegiance.
One of the videos describes the concept, but I could not identify the appropriate video since I am currently at work. Here's the page with all the trailers. linky Anyone else playing this yet? Just finishing my download shortly.
edit: i am now Lunartail on GM Zym
Made a character on Elysium(PvE) if anyone happens to be there, character name is Ina. Might play around on a couple others as well, got a couple LS memebers on one of the RP ones but wanted to get a feel for the game before getting into RPing.
Omg omg omg
There are roleplay servers? Lol This may be the closest I can get to becoming a real Jedi Yeh they have PvP, PvE (still has PvP in designated areas), and RP (didn't say anything about PvP)...
Rubat Crystal is where I'll probably go for RP server since thats where my LS friends are. waiting for trial period to come up, i'm buying guild wars2 str8 away tho
So how would you guys rate this game so far? On a critical level and a personal level :) ?
I have Mill a level 36 Powertech on Vornskr. will have more in the future. I have the Legacy name Al'ori'Ramikade which i now reget as it only fits with bounty hunters but meh, too late now and i was tired and high when i picked it, and my first choice of Starjumper was taken.

My rating of course is 10/10 but i'm biased so ... yeah :p Sylph.Spency said: » Omg omg omg There are roleplay servers? Lol This may be the closest I can get to becoming a real Jedi I would imagine RPing would be possible, but that KOTR universe backstory is so convoluted compared to Lucas' main storyline (from the movies and authorised books.) I think the average player, who might not have played KOTR before or realise this was set long before the SW movies, might be confused as to which "empire" they are talking about as the bad guys...or why the Trooper classes look like the clone units from Episode II, or why the Sith empire has droid units that look like Trade Federation droids, etc. etc. 9_-;; I am sure it was all done out of an effort to make things familiar for fans of the movies, but some of the game design choices kind of left me scratching my head at first about when this thing actually takes place. :p Huh? Wait, what? I just want to pretend to be a Jedi :o
Ah ok then, I think it lets you do that. :p

I probably spelt the exile's name wrong XD |
