I'm pretty sure that ban email is a fake... there have been a lot of them circulating the internet. Get ready for a tinfoil hat comment, but I wouldn't doubt if half the bad metacritic comments and these fake ban emails were Blizzard. I mean, if I was in charge of a company making a very popular MMO, and something came along with the potential to take a chunk of playerbase, why WOULDN'T I do something like that?

could simply be a phising email also, but since I see no mention of providing account/password it's really hard to say.

I know I have already got a few phising emails for SWTOR (I already deleted them so I can't show you them) as well as in game mail for RMT.

Aside from the somewhat apparent customer support issues, I find the game to be very fun.

There are some issues though. Skill trade nodes sometimes don't work in the fields. Glitchy quests that require a quest "restart" to be able to work properly. I've already fallen through the floor once in a flashpoint xD Was stuck in limbo.

The Auction House (Galactic Kiosk) is annoying also. The organizational structure is pretty bad. Takes a while search or something, or put multiple things up for sale. Even when trying to organize results, it still doesn't seem to work well.

Nothing that a few patches can't fix.

The most horrid part of the game.. is of course, some of the community. The constant bitching on General chat, especially in Fleet, can be overwhelming. Blah blah WoW clone.. blah blah WoW this.. blah blah WoW that.

Then, when someone tries to ask a question, 25%-50% of the responses are just trolling. Really!? Are MMO's like WoW really that bad? I always thought FFXI was kinda bad.. but *** hell..
FFXI seems like the nicest place on Earth compared to a lot of these people.

I never played WoW more than a couple hours. So to me the game mechanics are really good. Just make sure to use that /ignore command a lot. And try not to get banned for using the f word too much.. haha.. seriously.. that might not be a joke <_<

Is anyone else playing a Shadow and noticed that the tanking stance is doubleing your armour instead of going to 150%? Hearing about these random bans makes me a little scared to use it >.>

Also I noticed there seem to be alot of people from here on G.M. Zim so was wondering if you guys knew how populated the server was in the morning/afternoon. The one I'm on is kinda deserted in the morning atm and trying to stick to a NA server incase my work scedual changes at somepoint so thinking about trying another server.

GM zym and giradda the hutt are usually full or near full when i go to log on, when i first made my char on giradda i had to wait 10 mins.

most everyone on gm zym is sith though =/

That's why I went with a less full server, 0 wait time :)

Wow that language policy and customer service seems like an outright nightmare.
I'll likely wait til there's some revised policy changes and possibly more multiplayer based content before I pick this one up.

theres plenty of multiplayer stuff to do, and i've never seen anyone get punishment for language or anything.

they made it really easy to team with people, you can share missions and do group CS's for them, and you get bonus social points to spend on bonus gear when you team up with people.

I honestly consider this more of a Guild Wars-type game, except you have to pay for it. At best it's a cooperative RPG with hard modes that you need a group for and some group quests. 90% of the content you can do with your companion only.

Huttball is probably the best multiplayer aspect of the game.

Only things I've seen banned so far have been legitimate exploits, gold farmers, and outrageous amounts of swearing; like, worse than this forum has ever seen.

It's Mass Effect in Star Wars that you can play with other people and it has PvP, so if you like Mass Effect or Star Wars

I'm not really seeing the Mass Effect in it outside of the conversation system although I've only played a shadow so far so maybe the ranged class's play compleatly differently...

As for lack of multi player there is plenty to do, you can go back and do it with your companion 5-10 levels later sure, but at the point that you can solo it there is nothing to get that has a purpose to you since you will (should) be long grown out of the rewards (exp rewards are based off your level vs recommended level). It is also kinda in a leveling phase as a whole atm so instead of a straight up exp grind they have given us a mission grind (lv 27 and still on chapter one) to take us to 50. Even when your group is a few levels above the recomended levels for heroics/flashpoints they can still prove to be a bit of a challenge at times.

Personally I really don't think the game as a whole can be judged before people are mostly 50s and we've had some content patches to see what direction they are heading. ie will it be mainly lv50 content or will they spread it out between levels (when the exp curve is already stupidly off track)

A lot of the group quests reward you with custom items which you can never outgrow. However, the few heroic quests that there are include the only real group content (flashpoints included).

Hard Mode Operations are the only activities that really entail MMO status right now. Hopefully that's fixed at some point. Until it is, I can't really say the game is worth subscribing to for an extended period at the moment. There really isn't a lot of content at level 50 after you finish your story quests.

We'll see if they're capable of creating and maintaining a decent content schedule. If it's like WoW, big content patches every half a god damn year, then it won't last long for people. If it's like RIFT, big content patches every couple months or less, it should have some longevity.

So far I love the game damn they made the sith freaky nasty murderous sob's loving every bit of playing a sith assassin what a blast...

i love star wars, i love kotor should i get this? i was plannning on it but im just about to finnish apoca and kannagi i kinda dunno if i can be arsed going through all the same thing i went through with 11, unless its more laid back?

If you're a fan of kotor you'd like this. It's an online kotor, it even has references to kotor.

Any western MMO out there is more laid back than an eastern MMO like FFXI. This one is more laid back than usual though.

from what ive seen it looks nice, i take it its basicly wow style with alliance and horde except republic and Sith empire? also can you pick to be jedi etc or is it random?

You choose your class just like any other MMO, and each class has two subclasses at around lv 10.
