Star Wars The Old Republic
Unless there is a way to get cartel coins in game similar to gems in GW2 you will notice around the 3ed planet when you can't get more invantory space and have no item storage.
Bismarck.Faelar said: » You will lol, when you can't equip purple gear, when you can't get over 200k, when you can't SPRINT... I belive they might have even put chat restrictions in but I can't remember, i'd have to look. You still get sprint at lv 15, being prefered or subscription just gives it to you at lv 1. They say there are tell restrictions and only general on origin worlds but idk the details of that
The game isn't as bad as it was honestly, but there's still much to do to make it a great game.
You can't hide head gear, you can't participate in more than 5 PvP matches a week, you can't do more than 5 flashpoints a week, you can't have extra hotbars, you can't access your cargo hold, you can't access most of your crew skills and can't level the crew skills you have access to to max, you can't access the entire AH, you can't access your entire inventory, you can't use your guild bank, you can't personalize your NPC companions, you can't display titles, you can't display Legacy names, you can't wear purple gear.
But for the low low price of only $141.11 you can have all of these unlocked for 22 days! Have fun I guess? I enjoyed the game personally from what I did of it. The problem I ran into was there wasn't much to do once you hit 50. I was just running dalies, which I could solo so extra dull if no one was around, learning purple recipies I'd probably never use, and sometimes a flashpoint if there were people online in the fleet. Part of the problem was my play hours kinda sucked but even when there were people around things got repeditive really fast.
Part of me wants to retry it (with sub since screw those restrictions) but I'm pritty sure it would just end up the same again :/ Well Ina, unless you love doing pvp like myself. They have 4 Operations which you can do Story mode(easy) or Hard Mode(not too hard) and Nightmare mode(hard) so you can do 11 raids per week(newest raid has SM and HM only), and you're able to spam any of the flashpoins. With the top end gear, it's not top end, you have to remod everything, so there's a larger than usual gear grind.
Yeh I do remember the top end stuff having shitty mods in it XD
Sorry for the double post (although not combined with a necro this time) I looked into the costs for stuff a bit for if you wanted to do things beyond the story as F2P...
I got the prices here which gives a similar break down. Returning players get some CC on the house but idk how many it works out to. Their whole thing is limit the free players so that the subscribers won't unsub.
oh you can still subscribe, oh ok nvm did not know you still could.
Yeh I had no doubt that there would be alot of limits in place (anyone who thought that everything would be open was silly in this games case), they have basicly hit half way between a free trial and subscription. If you only want to do specific conent you get away with paying the price of buying the game + half the subscription, or close to the cost of buying the game used to nothing if you just want to do the story. The only ones I truly wtf at are the low credit cap and 2 character limit (since they are trying to say it's mainly for people who want the story but theres 8 stories).
All that said I'm still considering giving it another go under sub while XIV is down... Does anyone here play on The Shadowlands? Apperently thats where I ended up in the merges disguised as sever transfers XD Ragnarok.Shadowknoll said: » sounds like you have to pay to do anything in that game now . . . it was probably cheaper with a monthly bill lol. thats what we were saying months ago when it was announced. Its terrible.
![]() So the first actual expansion to SWToR (Rise of the Hutt Cartel) goes live for the people who pre-ordered tomorrow. Any of you guys still playing this game?
Not worth the sub fee and the F2P model is still terrible, so nope.
Still playing, very excited for all the changes, no more bubblestun *** yeah!
The game is leaps and bounds better than it was at launch, but it still needs some work. Pretty fun if you're a pve or pvp player now. I still find it amazingly hilarious that this "expansion" is paid content. It should be a free *** update. It barely adds anything whatsoever.
Sounds like par for the course from EA.
Been playing since 1st day Early Access (Ajunta Pall > Jung Ma > Now in The Bastion), Expansion looks promising to a few things!

It was initially going to be free, 1 planet and 1 new race. Once they went F2p they added 5 levels and the tweeks you'd need for that, it's 10 dollars. Worth it in my opinion just for the bubblestun slaying. Your guys ranked teams look so bad, we wish we had cross server rateds. lol So how is the expansion going if anyone has it?
Loving the expansion, they fixed some stuff. People are crying about some PvP changes, they nerfed some classes I liked and buffed others, but they were positive changes in my opinion.
Playing strong on The Bastion! (Imp and Rep side) Was more wondering if it was substantial enough to be worth reactivating/trying to find friends again XD
I liked the game but I couldn't meet anyone in it for whatever reason and that reduced me to more or less just dailies and buying 1 upgrade at a time every few days.
