Dead or Alive was always one of my favorites. I hope they just port over all the VF characters. The last few characters Sega added to VF were great but didn't get much exposure.

According to a "leaked" roster he is. Also as DOA has a relatively small roster it's safe to assume most chars will return or have somebody replacing their fighting style.
Also rehashed stages makes me sad hopefully there wont be too many :(

honestly I'm a little nervous.
I'm a huge DoA buff, been playing Since DreamCast, Big fan of Helena and Bayman and one of the few games where I actually kick *** online.
But ever since Itagaki left Team Ninja, quality has gone down the crapper. After the abortion that was Metroid Other M and the War atrocity that was "Ninja Gaiden 3" I'm taking a wait and see approach.
Mind you, they would have to try REALLY F'ing hard to F' up a fighting game. But the people that made the Best Action game ever "NG1" to one of the worst games in the genre "NG3" I wouldn't put it past them...

It's on it's fifth installment, it's bound to suck by now, there's really not much that can be done with the fighting genre to keep improving this far down the series, which unfortunately means the designers tend to start implementing stupid ideas because it must have something new!!! It's time for a new project, the juice has well and truly been squeezed from the DOA melons.

Like... Did you read that before you posted it? That statement is BS.
It's not bound to do anything, many series(fighting genre) have completely changed and still have room for improvements. For example, Street Fighter... The latest installments are beyond amazing and it only proves my point. No matter how far along in the series, their is always room for improvements. By the combo balance video just posted above you can notice many improvements to the system in itself. DOA4 to DOA5(whats been shown thus far), the difference in the technical side of things seems to be very impressive.

Tekken 6 Soul Calibur 5 and Mortal Kombat which is in it's 9th installment say "HI".
Also the whole "not much that can be done with the fighting genre to keep improving this far down the series" every fighting game that has been out for a while and keep coming out with different installments through out the years are always improving the fighting engine adding tweaks here and there just to stay fresh and amazing and as the trailers of this game show they are doing it with the stages. Also with characters they've all been re-hauled pretty much and look amazing also the guaranteed combo's from the critical bursts i'm very sure many long time DOA players are very excited and appreciate these changes.
