Makes me sad knowing that the Nameless King probably killed the real Ornstien. :( (not a spoiler, his armor IS found nearby though...) Orn was an illusion in DS1.
Orn in 2 was a weeb DS1 cosplayer
I'm probably wrong but idc since it means I mind find out the truth! love me some lore

I speak about bosses and lore.
"Rise if you would.... For that is our Curse."
I think that is my favourite boss fight from the game. It has an outstanding Soundtrack, and two of the most interesting characters.
I like their lore, as they seem to both have connections to Gwyn, and his only daughter. She Herself had several Daughters, one who came to Lothric, and is believed to of cursed the princes.
I believe someone pointed out that They exploited Gwynevere's daughter, to become the perfect vessels for the first flame. Which would explain their mastery over Miracles. And why Lothric can seemingly rise his brother from the dead.
There's a lot more detail on their lore elsewhere, but i love their lore. (Also the Consumed King is also related to them apparently)
Aldritch Devourer of Gods, who also is an incredibly interesting character, who i like for simillar reasons, he has the callback to the original game, As he devoured Gwyndolin. And maybe even a decedent of Nito, look at the weapons. (if he devoured Nito it would explain the plural
I love the nods to the first game this game has. :3

Subtle would have been nice, not so blatant The Refrences to Gwyn From the prince's arent very obvious, which i appreciate a lot, but then again, they where the founding fathers of basically the whole world in DS to some regard, ofc their influence is going to be there. ^^;;

So I got the end of fire ending, more because well...I'll keep it unspoilerish but I picked one thing that I could interact with and that's the ending I got.

I didn't feel like I was being beaten over the head with DS1, except for in one place.
And I quite enjoyed that one place. The effects of the events of the first game was amazing, if sad, to witness.

My favorite fight too! For the same reasons you listed.
The curse is probably just the undead curse. We don't know the actual process by which undeads rise from the dead, nor how long it takes. Perhaps Lothric indeed had some powers to make the process...seamless.
That was just my first impression of the obvious. I haven't given it much thought, dug into the lore, nor did I read about lore elsewhere. I'll just wait for ENB to start making lore videos.

Also my favorite boss. I beat it my first try (no idea how) but I loved it.
That atmosphere, the feeling of the boss, omg. Such a great crafted fight in terms of feels. Such a great feeling boss, and was satisfying to fight.
Just. Loved it.

I'm surprised Kali. The fight lacked weight due to us not knowing enough about them.
At least with artorias we had many npcs either respecting him or loving him or talking about him and many pieces of armor to give us his history and learn about him etc
But Emma tells us one sentence and we don't get a lot else until the fight. It's funny how you mentioned the Artorias fight; both fights have one thing in common: an immense shock value.
As for Artorias, despite the DLC carrying his namesake, I wasn't 100% sure he'd be a boss or an ally (I stayed in the dark, maybe that was already shown in trailers). Either way, given the legends told about how he bravely ventured into the Abyss, and single-handedly conquered it, it was quite shocking to see him reduced to the sorry state he was in: totally consumed by the Abyss. There was 0 build up for the fight, you just walk in and get greeted by him. Maybe he was subconsciously preventing you from proceeding any further so that you don't meet the same fate as him. Conjure up memories of how elegant and loyal to his master Sif was and the shock certainly becomes greater.
As for the twins, I expected Lothric to be a formidable knight, but was greeted with that helpless husk of a person, who only knew to cast miracles..and the fact that he had a loyal elder brother staying by his side till the end..I felt really sorry for them, and Lothric's quotes upon victory or defeat deepened that feeling:
"This spot marks our grave. But you may rest here, too, if you like."
"Mark my words, Ashen one...You remain among the accursed.."
FromSoft, you *** ;_;

I'm like... WHO ARE YOU, AND WHY DO YOU FEEL SO COOL. I NEED TO KNOW MORE!
It's one of my favorites upon entrance fights. It just felt so freaking cool!!

Which my shock/awe feeling probably led to my victory with my super well timed rolls and almost zero mistakes.
The fight might be easy, idk. It felt that way and I was just filled with such interest and feels. Loved it.

Also, does anyone know what happened to the gravestone lore idea? It was in the playtest beta but isn't in the full version ;( I loved those...

Can't say I'm a fan of the fight thus far.
"I have unlimited stamina, and your ability to hit me safely with anything other than a straight sword speed tier depends on whether my AI decides to start up another combo nearly immediately, or pause for a few seconds!"

The one you've been talking about.
By Kalila 2016-05-01 22:35:50
Stamina? As far as I know boss fights and pretty much any enemy in the game (nvm, kicking shield enemies can stagger them after their stamina depletes) use movesets, not stamina.
They never really spam a move, it's all scripted / randomized with moves that are added in as a boss stage progresses. That fight is no different with the exception of a 2nd boss, just like O&S, except they are together instead of apart.

The fight might be easy, idk. Nah, it was just RNG in your favor. It was on the harder side in my case.

That's why I'm looking forward to fighting them again with my SL1 character. I really would like to see what each boss really has to offer. Some of them I struggled with and others I breezed through.

I had no trouble sneaking in hits with my Zweihander, just gotta know your movesets. The roll > R1 was reasonably fast and safe, the only downside to it was that it only hit Lorian. So sometimes when I had full HP, I just took risks and did a 2-handed R2 lol.
