I'm about an hour from colorado, in nebraska.. close enough?
Is that the place where you can go skiing?

silly lud theres places to go skiing in pretty much any of the mountain or west coast states
Next door in kansas.. about 8hrs from denver.
Well I used to live in southern Colorado, born and raised, but haven't been there for about 2+ years now. Sigh.. I miss that state.

Dunno what to tell ya. Locations aren't down to the dot, you may find your "dot" on the map 5-10 miles from your actual location. (Intended, FFXIAH staff put a little "randomness" into the dots)
Might wanna post in the bug forums if it's still an issue.

i'm right on the border to wyoming from nebraska, which int urn is right on the border to colorado. I'm closer to denver and cheyenne than i am to my own state's capital.
