I don't know how I could have missed such important news.

Peyton Manning (aka "Hitler" whenever John Schnatter, Dan Cathy, Mitt Romney or George Bush isn't playing the role) purchased 21 Colorado Papa John's franchises 2 weeks before weed legalization, probably in an attempt to make more money like a typical rich scumbag.

The article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/08/peyton-manning-papa-johns-weed-legalization_n_2094395.html

Quote:
You probably thought you’d never read the sentence: Thanks to marijuana, Peyton Manning’s timing is flawless.

Colorado voters passed Amendment 64 last Tuesday, a law that legalizes marijuana in the state for recreational use. The timing couldn’t be better for Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, though not because he’s like a pot head or anything. Just two weeks ago, Manning purchased 21 Papa John’s franchises in Colorado.

Not seeing the connection? It’s the munchies. Stoners love to eat pizza. It’s one of their favorites, due to pace of delivery, range of variety, ease of ingestion and just general deliciousness. So odds are in a state where recreational use of marijuana is legal, there will probably be way more people eating Papa John's.

It's not just the added dollars spent on the pizza munchies that is likely to bring the state of Colorado some extra dough from weed legalization. Amendment 64 is estimated to bring the state $60 million in combined savings and added tax revenue.

Even before Colorado voters passed the law, Manning was confident that buying the pizza franchises was a savvy move.

“It's a smart investment now and will be long after I'm done playing football,” said Manning was quoted by NBC News after sealing the deal on October 26.

But that could just be because many of his fellow athletes are already finding success in the world of chain restaurants. Basketball star "Monster Mash" Jamal Mashburn, formerly of the Dallas Mavericks, owns 37 Papa John’s franchises, among other chains. Shaquille O’Neill and Venus Williams are also in the business among a reported 50 athletes signing franchise agreements in the past two years, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Who else just realized that football is an incredibly violent sport that should be banned in the United States?

Edit: Peyton Manning's always sucked anyway, amirite?

Even "stoners" know how bad papa johns pizza is. Paired with all the bad rep they are getting now, it sounds like a pretty good investment. Good call Peyton!

So a football player buys a bunch of fast food joints as a nest egg for when he retires? I don't see the problem.
