Level99 masamune or amanomurakumo?
As title reads I'm having trouble deciding whether to invest the time to get Lv.99 amanomurakumo or masamune.i know at 99 the amano gets a nice ws boost to kaiten but does masamune get anything other than str boost and more base dmg? I know there pretty close but which one would pull ahead of the other in dmg? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
masa at 99 is better than amano, the 20 str is great for shoha and the ODD aftermath will proc more than the amanos native O2x5D.
Masamune. All Amano has going for it over Masamune is the accuracy, really. Only mobs I can't cap accuracy on with a Masamune as far as I can recall are T2 Harpy in Legion and maybe Odin v2. Only did Odin v2 once quite a while ago, but I seem to remember accuracy troubles.
This thread already exists Conclusion: 99 Masa > 99 Amano
Masamune99 > Amano99
The only reason I left my Masa at 90 and did Amano99 is because Masa+Yoichi do not mix well at all. It just sucks that Masa is so ugly compared to Amano :(

Masamune at least looks like a demon GKT or something. Amano looks like a little stick to me.

Masamune looks amazing, looks like something Auron would use. Amano is a little stick that isn't a Katana.
Masamune should be less blue, Amano should be bigger.

Onimaru was probably the best shape indeed. Hagun was the most original I would say. Masamune looks like a plastic toy? Its widely regarded as one of the best looking weapons in ff history.

A lot of JP players think it looks cheesy and too heavily influenced by western culture. At least all the JP players I've talked to about it thought so. Never said traditional, but neither does amano, hagun, or half the trial gk's
Jassik said: » Masamune looks like a plastic toy? Its widely regarded as one of the best looking weapons in ff history. Problem in the case of Masamune is that the opinion is influenced by the fact that you get it easily and is a good weapon. Also it's an "original" shape/color, no wonder why people familiar with other MMOs and their cartoonish colors like it. I liked the first skin of Masamune better (pre-2005), it was the skin of Onimaru. Actually, Amano is a real GK that has existed, not Masamune (the shape). Jassik said: » Never said traditional, but neither does amano, hagun, or half the trial gk's Hagun is based on a traditional style of katana. It was used to kill cavalrymen's horses, or knock them off. Jassik said: » Never said traditional, but neither does amano, hagun, or half the trial gk's You didn't have to. But you said it's so highly regarded, and really isn't not. its a sword in a video game
![]() ![]() So with delve and accuracy issues...I'm thinking Amano will make a come back.
By the time SE buffs RME, accuracy issues will probably be negligible as the augments are pretty powerful, and the delve weapons themselves come with accuracy and can be augmented further.
That depends if you'll be able to augment enough STP and acc. I'll leave delve weapons out of this one.
