SO odd thing I have been curious about, does retaliation procc off of blocked hits?

The mob still hits you, but it is a bit different than a regular hit.

You mean a Parry? I don't think so, no. I know that we can Retaliate from Countered attacks and Multi-attacks but not I don't recall ever Retaliating if I parry. Usually just a "Ooop! No hit for ju!" and proceed to smash the mob in the face afterwards.

I'm assuming they mean the shield "Block" and not a parry and Saevel states he is using Blurred Shield +1, and the shield doesn't block full damage any more just reduces it.

Ahhh my mistake. In that case, I don't know actually. I can't imagine why it wouldn't work though. If I wasn't at work right now, I'd try to test it really quick.

I cant think of a reason either. But i cant really imagine why counter works while terrored . Point being, SE does weird stuff.

If you have ice spikes up and block an attack, does the attacker still take the damage?

Retaliation is quite literally "Warrior Spikes". It procs the same way as spikes and its action packet is the one used for spikes.

so is the answer confirmed to be yes or no on retaliation with a shield block? I havnt exactly played PLD with ice spikes up a lot.

I don't believe it proc off of blocked hits. If anything it lowers your block rate.

I noticed it while Skilling up on mandies. Also really noticable on stuff that hundred fists

interesting thing I am noticing on cataclysm with Xoanon. It is dealing double damage at 3k tp as compared to 2k Tp. not a great set on my cataclysm build though.

would you take those over the founders options?

With good augment for sure.
Only 3 pieces of Founder's have MAB (body,feet,hands) and only one has macc (body)

Odyssean can have almost as much MAB and on top of that macc, 4-5%WSD (6-7% on hands) and way more INT.

It process the same as spikes, meaning anytime something successfully ~hits~ you, then a roll on retaliation happens. Reprisal shows that spike effects proc off shield blocks.

I realized I didn't clarify what those previous numbers really meant. "Hit" is the total number of times something hit me, "Retaliation' is the number of times those hits proced a Retaliation. So Chango had 22/46 retaliations for 47.8%. Sword and board had 35 hits with 31 of those being retaliations for 31/35 and 88.5%. Now these are no where near enough to be certain, just my first night actually tracking them. Flippant has since fixed some of his code so we should be able to get a far more accurate set of numbers soon.

Start it up first, hit Retaliation then start tracking the hits. Make sure the monster is in fact of you the entire time and Retaliation stays up.

So I just recently got WAR to 99 and have around 100 JP on it. How up-to-date are the GA WS sets on the OP? I noticed in the S-tier WS sets having beads+2 and ioskeha+1. Are beads+2 and ioskeha+1 really beating out the fotia set for upheaval/ukkos/kings?

Fotia does very little for GA weapon skills. Beads+2 and iso+1 belt are the way to go. Keep using Fotia for Resolution though.

Ah ok. Already have ioskeha +1, but 80 mil is awfully steep for something I don't plan to use much outside of MS zerg situations. Primarily doing this since we don't have anyone with serviceable WAR in our group.

Can go something like 20 23 or 26 Martial arts depending on what quality earrings you use.

It’s a hefty price tag but beads+2 are BiS for nearly everything. Since you’ll only use war for MS zergs then it’s not a huge deal. Maybe something to work towards if you end up wanting to play the job more.

for upheaval the unmoving collar +1 isnt a terrible option. the 10 enmity isnt a huge deal since during MS zerg you will probably have hate.

Alot more than you can get, youd need around 70 with capped magic haste to floor delay with the ambu h2h

Does anyone have a decent Hexa Strike set for WAR?

Obvious pieces I can think of are Yetshila +1, Valorous Feet with Crit dmg aug and Fotia neck/waist as it transfers fTP between hits.

I'm thinking Argosy +1 but would crit dmg pieces all around just be better?

Anyone have a Black Halo set that they could share as well?

Different and the same. DW is a percentage while MA is a static value, otherwise they are treated the same.
