My WAR Sucks!

I was using a Svarga with DA, Ambuscade Mantle a heavily Double attack set up 4 hit. using Chaos - Fighter. My Damage was pretty decent i could solo with severe difficulty ambuscade sometimes wiping.

I made another Svarga this time with STP, Got STP ambuscade cape, drop some DA in order get 3 Hit Build. My killing speed went up dramaticaly. I could destroy difficulty ambuscade and even win some VD. Chaos - Fighter COR rolls

Im Starting to think for Two handers 3 Hit build or go home. Im curios to see what think WAR experts about 4 hit vs 3 Hit in the actual game stake and im Curios to see if a Bravura ILV119 - III 4 Hit build can outparse for a decent margin a perfect 3 Hit Svarga.

A 3-hit build requires north of 100 store Tp which isn't feasible. Your previous WS counts as your first hit, so a WS + 3 hits is a four hit and a WS + 4 hits is a five hit.

So I believe you went from a five hit to a four hit with a 545 delay weapon. That is 150 TP per swing but on an extremely slow weapon. For a pure five hit you need 200 per swing so 34 Store TP, which is piss easy to get. For a pure four hit you'd need 250 per swing so 67 which shouldn't be very hard with decent gear.

Now a Rag is 431 delay, 122TP per swing. A six hit requires 167 TP per swing so with Rag it would need 37 Store TP, again very easy. A give hit with Rag would require 64 Store TP, with decent gear not hard. A four hit would require 105 Store TP, not feasible.

Finally a "three hit" is 334TP per swing. For the Svarga that is 123 Store TP, for Rag that is 174 Store TP. So yeah you don't have a "three hit".

And just to illustrate swing speeds, it's 60 delay per second in FFXI.

545 Delay = 9.08 seconds per swing, 36.2 seconds for four swings
504 Delay = 8.4 seconds per swing, 33.6 seconds for four swings
431 Delay = 7.18 seconds per swing, 35.9 seconds for five swings

A DA counts as a "hit" so with 50% DA a "four hit" becomes a "2.666 hit" build, a five hit becomes a "3.33" hit build. Sometimes you can have all four swings without any DAs, other times you can have two swings with DA's, but it will average out to those numbers over time.

Has anyone worked Gracile GripNQ/HQ into their sets?

Easy it lets you TP in Kentarch Belt +1 or similiar belt instead of needing haste.

So I'll be the first to ask, but whats wars best current polearm at the moment?

Blurred/+1, since the only alternatives are Nativus Halberd (Incursion, so pass) and iLvl 109 trash.

Assuming Valorous has 5DA augments then it should total 70% DA and when we consider the 33% DA base from 2100 Warrior we can hit over 100% DA. I am not sure it has been officially tested, but I guess we can finally get a hard answer.

Obviously Sulevia / Boii can be replaced with Valorous and the V. Greaves can be replaced with Acro leggings.

I only have one Valorous mail and don't feel like retooling the augment just for this test. Though I guess since the total is 103% I could use Acro surcoat for 101%.

Either way did I miss where someone tested this?

100% cap has been known for quite some time. Atmas and Fighter's Roll allowed WAR to hit 100% long before SoA.

Very true, but does that apply to gear cap? Idk if Atmas or Rolls are calculated separately. I'd assume they are not and its just one value.

Reforging some WAR stuff. Are the 119 Emp head/hands/legs/feet still relevant?

Feet look like they could be used for Mighty Strikes WSs, but don't know how they'd compare to Argosy +1 or Crit DMG aug'd Valorous Greaves.

Hands appear like they might be useful, but not sure how they'd compare to Valorous Mitts or Emicho+1. I honestly don't even know how potent the Restraint bonus is. Not too familiar with that JA.

Don't know if I'm missing a potential use for the head/legs, but I'm not seeing one. Thanks for any feedback.

Head is pretty useful for a 100% DA build with the Ambuscade cape and Ukon AM3. Melee hits do >5k very frequently, it's pretty insane

I actually have a Valorous Mask with DEX9/Acc26/DA5 already. I'm guessing that can be a fine replacement in such a build.

Str or *Mnd / macc / WSD

Str and mnd are equal so you want whichever you have less of total without the cape, probably mind.


However, if you already have an str/wsd type cape it's a perfectly good alternative

STR and MND are equal mods, so do STR.

True for physical WSs, but since we're talking about a magic WS I'd imagine the answer is actually "whichever you can get the most of in that slot if disregarding MAB or WSD".

I believe Byrth is talking about picking STR because that is useful for several of WARs single hit WS, where as MND is like Cloudsplitter and Requiscat only (but you don't want WSD for Requiscat anyway).

Good day fellow Warriors, hoping all is well and very glad this forum keeps active despite SE lack of love for our job.

I'm here today looking for help, just got my AG Ragnarok last night and just wanted to see if there are any improvements that I could do to my set, most my augments are ACC/ATK haven't have any luck with STP or DA (other than V.hose DA+5) and my lots are terrible when it gets to valorous mail.

I have copied some of Byrth info on gear sets from couple pages ago, and started saving again to get couple pieces argosy hq, my Cicho cape is DA STR ACC-ATK, will make a STP one for next ambuscade.

Now what should I be focusing next as priority, haven't played WAR much lately but I have kept updating gear as update come and go, thanks for the answers in advance, below is my TP set, will be posting my WS set soon, at work at the moment.

I personally use Emicho Hands and Body as they bring DA, STP and large amounts of ACC if augmented along Path B.

Odyssean Cuisses have DEX7, Acc28, Attack 5, STP4
Valorous Greaves have CHHR8 acc25, Attack 31, DA4

It all depends on your augments for your sets as well. I could be wrong but I think Odyssean with their native Acc, STP and DA > V.hose normally. You would also get a better Acc/STP using Lissome Necklace and Rajas.

A Question myself what is the view on chirich ring V Rajas Ring?
