[Dev] Seekers of Adoulin (Mar 13)
This should only apply to PC versions, for xbox I'm sure you'll still need the Seekers disc in order to play the game.

I still think they should have named the job Rune Knight instead :|

It's time to save up gil's for all those new relics!!!!
Does anybody have any idea on what kind of armor Runic Fencer will be wearing? I know with it being a "tank" and using great swords, heavy armor seems like the obvious answer.
However knowing how sadistic SE can be, the fact that they chose "Fencer" instead of "Knight", and that their AF looks (to me) like cloth/leather armor.. I'm kind of wondering if they will be limited to light and or medium type armor.. Eh, hopefully I'm just reading too much into this, but I'm curious if anyone else has thought the same thing. So wait... correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I hear it's not possible to 'just' buy the new expansion with your payment methods configured through POL?
I hope I can still just pay through my SE account with the creditcard I'm using. I can understand SE's choice regarding security risks but at the same time shouldn't they make sure customers will/can buy the expansion as much as possible as easy as possible...? Hopefully we'll hear an update about this in the next month, since the actual sale date is drawing closer and closer. Playonline payment is dead.
They may enable something on SE account management page, and IMO that's what they should have done in the first place, but then they'd have to set up a download for it, when certain retailers: Amazon, already have a method for it. I was thinking about this as well. I think since it is a magic tank, and not a physical tank, it has no need for hard armor really. Although I find it hard to picture this job getting the kind of stats they put on light armor pieces, instead of heavy armor pieces, but who knows. I think it will be one of those jobs that get half of the heavy armor, and half of the light armor, depending on what the piece does. Like how drk/pld/war get the "heaviest" armor pieces, and some other jobs like BST seems to get a mix.
![]() ![]() This heretofore unknown type of magic centers around either the geomancers themselves or their trusty luopans. While undeniably potent, a geomancer's true thaumaturgic power can only be unleashed by equipping special bells made solely for geomancers' use. There exist two main facets to geomancy: ![]() Indicolure Spell Examples ?Indi-Voidance: Enhances evasion for party members near the caster. ?Indi-Acumen: Enhances magic attack for party members near the caster. ?Indi-Gravity: Weighs down enemies near the caster and lowers their movement speed. ?Indi-Paralysis: Paralyzes enemies near the caster. Indi-Regen: Gradually restores HP for party members near the caster. ![]() ![]() Geocolure Spell Examples ?Geo-Fury: Enhances attack for party members within area of effect. ?Geo-Focus: Enhances magic accuracy for party members within area of effect. ?Geo-Malaise: Reduces magic defense for enemies within area of effect. ?Geo-Torpor: Reduces evasion for enemies within area of effect. Geo-Poison: Poisons enemies within area of effect and gradually reduces their HP. ![]() ![]() Geomantic catalysts of the highest degree, luopans act as the epicenter for special spherical fields termed "colures." These mystical emanations can be deployed anywhere upon the earth in order to activate geocolure spells. ![]() ![]() Only by taking hold of a handbell can geomancers unlock the full potential of their magical munitions. Polishing one's skill in the handbell makes it possible to enhance the effects of geomancy spells. ![]() ![]() An indispensible part of any geomancer's arsenal, this job trait modifies the effects of elemental magic depending upon the direction in which those spells are cast. ![]() ![]() ![]() I might level that as a main job O_O'
Depending if its gear rape like SCH or not....and depending on how much gear RNF will take. ![]()
![]() The massive stone blade that adorns this shark-like creature's head is harder than any metal and does an ample job proving just how ghastly this beast is. Tchakka trawls the waters of Foret de Hennetiel in constant search of prey while maintaining a tight grip upon the local aquan populace, which reveres the rockfin as their leader. More than proficient at manipulating its underwater habitat, Tchakka can instantaneously envelop transgressors in a thousand flashes of blinding light and cleave their flesh clean off with one stroke of its aquatic cutlass, thus ensuring the safety of the forest. Should adventurers endeavor to turn the tide of battle against this monolithic beast, they would most certainly have to tread carefully in this riverbed sabre dance. ![]() ![]() ![]() Achuka is so hot-tempered that magma supposedly courses through its saurian veins—a trait it may very well use to its advantage in ruling over the lizards that inhabit the Morimar Basalt Fields. This monstrosity was seemingly bred for slaughter. With claws that emit searing heat, fangs that can fell the largest of trees, horns tougher and sharper than any katana, and crimson scales reminiscent of bloodshed, there's no part of his body that cannot be used as a weapon. Add space-distorting waves of heat to the long list of its predatory arsenal and it would seem nary an adventurer alive could stop him. No matter how thick one's armor or strong one's sorcery may be, they amount to no more than kindling before Achuka's blazing flames. As if that weren't enough, his ear-shattering roar is so terrifying that it forces even battle-hardened adventurers to assume the fetal position while they relentlessly unleash cries for mercy...which of course do little but fall on deaf ears. ![]() ![]() ![]() An exoskeleton harder than any armor ever conceived by mankind and a seemingly infinite supply of venomous stingers round out this queen bee's vicious armaments. The ominous drone of her heavily beating wings can be heard throughout the jungles of the Yahse Hunting Grounds and the Ceizak Battlegrounds, instilling both fear and awe in the vermin that reside there. Colkhab can call upon a tempestuous gale to protect her at a moment's notice, and a simple twitch of her legs can unleash cyclonic blasts so strong that they rend one's sinews in twain. Paired with the armory of needles stored in her abdomen, she could conceivably cut down legions of foes from all directions in less than a heartbeat. Assuming one can survive this initial onslaught of wind-whipped blades, the poison harbored within each and every stinger is strong enough to incapacitate even the most hulking Galka. Once the poison's effect takes hold, there is naught any may do but gape in a soundless scream as scavenger insects slowly devour their living corpse. ![]() ![]() Look at that new Gsword on Rune... that looks neat and you can see the "geo cast stance" in the top pictures. Nice
The monsters are *** badass but the other things in the screenshots interest me even more, namely our firs tlook at Geomancer and Rune Fencer abilities
Yea, there is a lot more going on than just a geomancer update and 3 new monsters.
LOL @ the other announcement. Double XP weekend
I want to see RNF stuff like they have GEO up Q_Q
I want to hear about those delicious JA based abilities (and hopefully the RNF "Provoke" is as powerful as normal provoke and is below level 49) Ooooh there's a new song on the website too
