Leviathan.Jackieolivas said: » New Zelda not related to the abominations that were OoT and MM... shipmypants.exe ....excuse me? >_> In my opinion, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask were absolutely dreadful. For that matter, all Zelda games I have played that were not 2D (OoT, MM, WW, PH, ST) were horrid. Haven't played Skyward Sword because I refuse to play Wii games anymore, so I recuse myself from judgment of that one. I somewhat liked Twilight Princess for GameCube, but it was certainly no Link to the Past.
I dusted off my n64 and played majora's mask recently. I remember thinking it was a horrible game back when it came out. Now, I love that game.
abominations... well, you are entitled to your opinion. also hated windwaker when it came out... I should look around in storage for my gamecube too. Windwaker got so much hate just because it tried a new artstyle -_-
It even looked good! I really liked that game, but I think Majoras Mask actually is my fav. I can think of reasons why people might not like oot, (annoying fairy, annoying owl, too much text at some points] but to say its an abomination...to me oot is pretty much the game that perfected 3d gaming, the lock on system, and the camera movement system and switching between first person and 3rd person view(probably missing alot of other things]. I honestly don't think 3d games would be where they were today without this game.
only zelda game I've played and haven't liked, was probably phantom hourglass, even though I only played it for about 5minutes, I really didn't like having to use the touchscreen on the ds
and also, how can you somewhat like twilight princess, and hate oot? >_<
Because my opinion differs from the masses, I'm trolling?
I hated them all for a few different reasons. Controls being a major factor. I always hated the N64 controller and the control scheme for both N64 titles was, in my opinion, terrible. The storylines (my primary reason for loving RPGs) were, again my opinion, convoluted and subpar. Wind Waker was an absolute abomination. Not because of the cel shading. I actually like that graphical technique. I didn't like the disgustingly cutesy art style. And again, the story didn't do it for me. Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks were heaping piles on the DS. The controls were complete crap, they had scaled down versions of that same art style I hated, and the writers seemed to have let their kids make the stories. To add even more fuel to this inevitable fire, I also hate the entire Resident Evil series. Survival Horror never caught on with me. However, unlike others that blindly hate on things, I actually play games all the way through before I levy my opinions. I need to finish skyward sword. I really like the game, it brings a new challenge to gamers in general. It doesn't matter how bad or how good you were at oot majora's mask and twilight princess, everyone starts off as a n00b in skyward sword lol.
storylines? you do know all the zelda storylines are connected?, so to say you hate the storyline in oot, but like it in link to the past is kinda dumb...
![]() Personally I love how they connected all the storylines to each zelda into a pretty decent full storyline. and also, what is it about the 64 controller that is hated? only thing i hated about 64 controllers was that I broke the joystick like x5 times and had to get new 1s.
maybee this new link to past sequel will explain how adult link was defeated in oot.
I always found the Majoras Mask story to be really "cool".
Such a depressing game, but done in a great way. You basicly got to see the face of people who knew they were gonna die from having the moon crash down on them, day after day, as you rewatched the event that killed them over and over again, without beeing able to help for the longest time. It made me really want to complete the game! Very different story-wise, no Zelda to save, but it was amazing. Why exactly are you playing Gaming Police? Like I said, my tastes differ from the masses. We are all fully entitled our opinion, no?
Chimerawizard said: » Gimp said: » ***. Now I have to buy a 3DS I was doing so good avoiding it! A Link to the Past was FANTASTIC and challenging, something to mark on my list I think it looks much better in 3d than it did on n64. When remaking, they colored a few things here and there, (water dungeon got enough color that I don't get lost anymore) and basically left everything alone. I think its the only game I played for that system to date though. now I'm gonna get a 2nd game to play! edit: for using the 3DS, make sure you read about distance from eyes stuff, I notice if I have the system in the correct place directly facing me there is no issues with the 3d feature, but if its at a different spot my eyes will hurt in like less than a minute. I do but I'm not crazy about OoT like most people are it's a great game but I like Majora's Mask a lot better (which will probably get me shot for saying this!) I'm a cheapass in general and I didn't see the reason to buy a 3DS for a remake of a game that was fine where I left it after I beat it. It goes without saying that I'll be getting the Majora's Mask remake also!!!! Leviathan.Jackieolivas said: » Why exactly are you playing Gaming Police? Like I said, my tastes differ from the masses. You shot down the game of the year for 1996(and most of game series) and another acclaimed video line famous for survival horror tactics.
Only Zelda game I can think of off the top of my head that I strongly disliked was Phantom Hourglass. Mostly because I tend to take long breaks when playing handhelds and I can never remember that stupid dungeon that you repeat and just gets longer every time you do it. Ocean Kings Temple or something I think it was called. Forever stuck there :/
I know they put Majora's Mask on Wii to play as a port of the n64 version, but they're remaking it?! AWSOME!
I want to know how they explain the sacred realm kept safe in OoT... Link goes to see Zelda, she sees the kokiri emerald, makes a wise decision by taking him to her father to tell him what happened and about who did in the great tree. Ganondorf is executed. Game Over! edit: couldn't think of the name of the gem when I was writing. Leviathan.Jackieolivas said: » Why exactly are you playing Gaming Police? Like I said, my tastes differ from the masses. We are all fully entitled our opinion, no? Im not saying you aren't entitled to you opinon, but people that don't give decent reasons for hating something are very ignorant imo. For examble Im not a huge fan of the Assassin creed games, (I don't hate the games, just don't play them.)and here's why. Story, didn't care much for it I was expecting this game to be just to entirely based in History not some scifi ish avatar ish using a persons memory thing. gameplay: gameplay was good, but I was expecting this game to be mainly stealth, but there really isn't much stealth in this game and also countering is fun and addicting, but tbh 80% of all the combat usually revolves around it. Also the fact that you couldn't kill innocent civilians without getting a health penalty seemed like a really weird game choice to me...but w/e. I wish :< YouTube Video Placeholder I remember this video got me so excited for a few hours.. The video did inspire Mr. Miyamoto though, so I wouldn't say it's completely out of the picture.

Then back down hill :/ I can understand why someone wouldnt like it though but if you've never played 2 I would suggest giving it a chance. It's worlds better than 1. [what I think happened] the sky gods or w/e saw that after adult link fell in oot, the world plunged into darkness, so they created an alternate world using the 7 priests, (link to the past world) in which ganon could not enter. since ganon could not enter, he had to mind control agahim to capture the 7 descendants of the priest, which lead to the events in link to the past. Also, MM seems to be just an alternate reality w/o a triforce, but three giants instead. At least what it looks like from playing it. |
