I found an ISO a really want to try out, but I'm having trouble getting it to work. Any suggestions? What firmware do I need to have, etc.

Can PM me too if you'd prefer. bump. I'd have to ask my friend.
I never bothered to hack my PSP as I'm too cheap to buy a huge flash card for it. I imagine it's just a case of updating the CFW. I haven't done mine in at good year or so, I have no idea what the latest revision is.
Assuming the ISO you've acquired is a scene release, then there should be comments on the net from other people who've had similar issues, give the release name a Google and see if you can find anything? Or PM me it and I'll check my sources. i'm still running chickhenv2 c.c;
Basically I'm trying to run some ISOs I got from here.
I confirmed that it is indeed a PSP-3001, running 6.60 Firmware. Should be working on all CFW, apparently.
What's not working about it? Is it giving you the error when you're booting it? EDIT I'm downloading it myself, I'll see if I can get it running. EDIT 2 It's running fine on my PAL PSP 1003, on CFW 5.50 GEN-D3. It is the first game not 2/3, yeah? Maybe update/downgrade (whichever it is) to that and try it. Guess I'll google CFW Oh, I assumed that was a CFW (Custom firmware) Yeah you can't play an ISO without CFW. It's easy enough to do.

Step by step, pain free guide that wouldn't brick my PSP would be great XD Google turns up a lot of links. I'm not sure where to start and which would be the correct path/downloads. http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-guides-tutorials/75825-how-install-6-60-pro-any-version-cfw-ofw.html
That should be able to help you out. Once that's done it's easy. Put the ISO into the ISO folder and you're good to go pretty much. No chance of bricking my PSP with this?
As long as you can follow instructions, not really.
Siren.Demetreos said: » As long as you can follow instructions, not really. The guide doesnt mention a PSP 3001. Only up to 3000. Assume its partially hackable or no? Ok, got it installed. Now just put my ISO file in the GAME folder?
The ISO itself, or the folder the ISO is in? I would probably say the iso itself, if that doesn't work, try it the other way...
I tried the ISO itself in the ISO folder, and in the game folder.
I also tried the game's entire folder, in the GAME folder, and the ISO folder. Nothing. Did you try in the Menu of the PSP itself (using "select") to switch it to the UMD ISO MODE if it's not done already?
When transferring games to the psp, it has to be in the following directory:
P:\ISO\GameNameHere.iso P being the letter your computer assigned the PSP, and if you don't have an ISO folder, just create one. You can put both ISO and CSO files here. Edit: then just go to the home screen, and it should be under games on your psp xmb menu. NO idea what any of that is xD What settings need to be on what? Just the legit games I already have on the memory stick (Corpse Party and 2 Emulators). Are you running CFW? does this menu pop up if you hold select?
![]() If you've installed the custom Firmware, you should be able to open a Menu with pushing select. This should let you switch to UMD ISO Mode, and make it possible to play the ISOs you have in your ISO-Folder.
Though, not sure if you've now installed a temporary firmware or a permanent one. If it's the temporary one, don't forget to turn it on with the program for it, usually called something like LME Launcher depending on the firmware, gotta do it everytime you restart your PSP or went out of battery. If trying the UMD ISO Mode doesn't work either, you may need to try a different ISO from somewhere else to see if it may be the cause of the problems :( Shiva.Unantastbar said: » If you've installed the custom Firmware, you should be able to open a Menu with pushing select. I'm running the CFW linked in this vid's description: It should work then - install the Firmware and then the Launcher after the restart. Proper ISOs in your ISO Folder or CSO files should show up. Make sure you have only the ISO.data in there, and not any other folders leading to them.
If you start the launcher and activate the Firmware, does it show up properly under System Information? Have you tried any other ISO than the one you've mentioned? Hold select to bring up VSH menu, make sure ISO mode is set to "Inferno." Then click shutdown.
Boot up the psp again, run the PRO FastRecovery. If the game is saved in correct location it should appear and run fine. If not, the game file might not be an actual ".ISO" file and it can be saved as a different file type like "gamename.ISO.bin" this will make it not appear since, windows like to sometimes hide the file type so you can't edit it. You can open up a program like WinRAR or 7zip and double check it. Shiva.Unantastbar said: » It should work then - install the Firmware and then the Launcher after the restart. Can you send me the link to the game so I can see if its just that one.
