George Kamitani (Vanillaware) vs Kotaku.
I was about to say one of the single-most sexist and offensive things I've ever said. Then I decided it was probably one of those "only I'll find this funny" or "someone will think I really think that way" and I don't wanna die today.

This site is run by Joystiq, which has better journalism IMHO: Here they discuss the ethics of covering such a game: http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/04/18/ask-massively-why-we-cover-what-we-do-part-one/ Lol such controversy: http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/04/07/rise-and-shiny-peeking-into-the-half-naked-world-of-scarlet-bla/ Massively is a genre specific site, though. It increases pretty rapidly to a stable state though.
I'm sorry, but women who cosplay know exactly what they're doing. If they didn't' want men to look at them then they wouldn't be doing it. Do you think that they want to dress up and not have anyone look at them? They wouldn't be out in public dressed up as *character* if that was the case.
That's a vast generalisation and actually quite often used as a defense in rape cases too. You may be surprised but a lot of people, men and women, dress in cosplays because they like it, not because they seek yours or mine attention. Like people that dress with their teams colours don't wear them to draw your attention yes? The difference is that in men you admire the costume, in women you oggle for butts and boobs. So really you try to justify how being a maladjusted pervert is the norm. "the journalist's gf/wannabegf probably drones on about oppressive, patriarchal, dirty man-games, because she's homely. He just did it to shut her up and score some not sleep on the couch points"
I mean I don't think that's actually the case, but I do feel he had an ulterior motive. A random non-eunich doesn't just spontaneously decided to champion women in some obscure *** article. The boss probably said "our reader base is 80% male". or some ***. Oh, Jason Schreier, you're my hero! Thank you for saving me from those nasty, perverted game developers! I feel so much safer now! Please continue to defend me while I go in the other room and dress myself in my Princess Peach style gown making ever so certain to conceal these shameful mounds of flesh affixed to my chest.
Thank you so much, Jason, for teaching me what is offensive and embarrassing and for fighting the fight that I could surely never fight for myself being the weak, submissive, and browbeaten creature that I am. You truly are a paragon of virtue whose brave actions will surely empower women like myself to seek out a strong and enlightened man like you so we can better our lot in life. Surely we cannot do it alone. Tymoris said: » That's a vast generalisation and actually quite often used as a defense in rape cases too. Remove the / from the first [*quote*] tag and it will look right ! ;) Now, not all people who appreciate women cosplaying are perverts. And certainly not everyone who plays Vanillaware games are perverts. :) There's nothing maladjusted or abnormal about being a pervert...

It depends on how much courage you have I suppose. Perverts in Japan are arrested if they're caught filming under girl skirts with electronic gadgets. If you ever wondered why these Nintendo DSi or 3DS, cell phones and other portable devices with built in cameras do that shutter "click" sound when you press the picture button, that's your explanation. It's to discourage perverts from using them on their perverted antics. :) One of the arguments that can spun from this kind of talk is that perverts start on small stuff to then try bigger things later. Oh and I see you Cams ! /wave ;) Ragnarok.Ashman said: » "the journalist's gf/wannabegf probably drones on about oppressive, patriarchal, dirty man-games, because she's homely. That's when you literally cross the line from being a pervert to being a sex criminal. Not to put words in his mouth, but he probably meant "pervert" as someone who has sexual thoughts which is obviously completely natural. Quote: One of the arguments that can spun from this kind of talk is that perverts start on small stuff to then try bigger things later. That makes sense. Once someone is used to a certain stimulus they get less of a reaction from it than when they first experienced it. They have to find something new or more involved or extreme to get their jollies. Quote: Oh and I see you Cams ! /wave ;) Always great to see ya, Mari! /wave! (^_^)/ I generally ignore video game issues like this, because it's basically the electronic equivalent of *** shaming, and *** shaming never works.
It's been said a few times before- if anyone playing these types of games with overtly sexual themes can't separate fantasy from reality, it's on the player for turning into a potential sex criminal, not the game. And, everyone's a pervert in one way or another :p Cell phone camera's were my gateway. Now I can't get off without watching puppies get raped by kittens.

And, everyone's a pervert in one way or another :p I honestly would have no problem with it if they were realistic proportions. Or didn't have convoluted boob physics. I mean quite literally everything the character model does in the game is about making the boobs wobble like trees swaying in the wind. Even when she's just walking forward she undulates her shoulders so her boobs act like one of those perpetual motion things you'd expect to see on a science teacher's desk in a kid's television show. Plus I don't even think they attach correctly. As prominently featured as they are, they'd better have dialogue. Quote: Women prancing around half-naked/naked was around long before video games. and that ***, when created by men to reinforce sexual fantasies originally inculcated by men, for men, was sexist then and it's sexist now Quote: Also, please tell me how a woman character designed like that is sexist? for starters, it presents a physical ideal for women that is hypersexualized, whereas the physical ideal presented for men IN THE SAME CONTEXT (this game) is based on athleticism same ***you see in comic books. the men don't have any more realistic body types than the women, it's true, but at least with the men they look like reasonable depictions of somebody who could pick up a car Quote: If I tell you to get back in the kitchen and make me a sandwich, then I'll be sexist. But until then, I'd advise you to stop being idiotically presumptuous. please continue playing video games and never put yourself in a position where your opinions will have consequences for other people physical ideal..... when I was a kid we called it "having goals" and "ideal" had a positive connotation. When I get a pot belly I don't bemoan "unrealistic expectations perpetuated by a female driven regime".... I put down the sandwich and go for a *** run.
you're an idiot "created by a pandering PC society without the ability to discern tact from pandering to a victim enabling machine" or however you'd choose to silver tongue it. Anyhow, this thread isn't going to change anything and neither will your posts. I'm going to go home and relax while fapping to some harem porn. It always amazes me when people lash out about someone else's vocabulary/articulation.
Being healthy?
I get your point, men do like big breasts, it's sexually attractive, but it doesn't mean that they don't like women with small breasts. Archer |
