Not that I play XI or XIV anymore, but still. Bismarck.Faelar said: » How is this confirmation? Source please. Source please. Not that I play XI or XIV anymore, but still. It was the "live letter from the producer" or w/e,questions and answers with the devs basically I still find it odd that scholar would be a release (re-release) job, when some of the fundamentals aren't available yet.
So far we got BRD, PLD, DRG, WAR, MNK, SMN, SCH, WHM and BLM. ... I hope they add more jobs than the typical XI ones. :/
Chemist, Necromancer, Animist, Beserker ![]() Cutest job ever >.> Need's more Dancer Thief and Ninja. We will see NIN in the first expansion :). And no I'm not going to confirm this Yoshi-P said it in a live letter long ago.
Also no BLU...EVER. I lost a bet to someone on FFXI that will literally hold me to this bet. Anddddd... Nobody cared. Make a thread when BLU gets in XIV and watch it make 9 pages before the day is out. :-)

I'm sold! So long as my Roegadyn male can wear the knee socks and pleated skirt.

Thought it was arcanist was going to be the next class they wield books much like scholar from other ff's but they become summoners.

This is a SCH lovers thread...GET OUT. Hope they don't add them horrible BLUs in FFXIV waste of space we could have Onion Knights instead of BLUs. Either there will be a second new class added (not mentioned yet), or they went with a previous idea. The one where one class can branch into two (or more) jobs. While I agree that people who *** about BLU not being in 14 yet are only people that haven't played the current combat system of 14:ARR and should pipe down, Onion Knight would be OVERLY broken if they based it on previous versions of it. A job that gets stronger the more jobs you have leveled? >_> Eh? The only time i remember there being an onion knight was FF3 and it was an utterly useless class with no growth up until level 70/80ish and other then the most powerful gear in the game they couldn't equip anything beyond the second set of gear available to you at the very beginning of the game.
Onion Knight was added to FFT: War of the lions however that wasn't a class originally in the game, also seems like you are some what equating onion kight to the jobless class of FFV which was overpowered when you mastered the other classes and gained access to passive traits without even having to equip them among other things like inheriting stats similar to the mastered class. FinalFantasyWiki said: The Onion Knight is a job whose level increases by mastering other jobs. When every other job is mastered, the Onion Knight becomes the strongest job class in the game. It cannot learn any abilities by itself, but can equip every piece of equipment in the game. Is which Onion Knight I was referring to. Or in FF3 when they get to level 90, as they climb to 99 their stats sky rocket and cap out at 99. Well the added sch, so I will buy ffxiV now. See you in August.
![]() Click on the image to go to the main site's SCH part. Bits mentioned in the Live letter today (copy and pasted from Bismark:Aselin's notes) ~ Primary pet: Fairy ~ Role: Handles Regen and healing over time ~ Fairy's role and appearance will change depending on what SCH does ~ Only one pet, Fairy sounds an awful like the Wyvern for Dragoon in FFXI-- one pet, but multiple roles ~ White Mage will deal the massive heals and Cures, and status effects. Scholar handles healing over time (HoT?) with Regen. I'm sold, just because of this.

It gave me this Magical Lyrical Nanoha A's vibe when the series dealt with the Book of Darkness, and how the magical powers were written to and derived from the book. ;D Healing over time is kind of a weird niche...
Don't get me wrong, when I played SCH my whole party had Regain, Regen and refresh at all times, so I'm totally down with that, but it was nice to unleash TV nukes between that. I'm sure Sch will have it's own set of nukes, hell whm has it's own nukes in this game >.>;

I'm excite either way, just proves that multi-job classes are possible and we might get RNG from Archer afterall. I think the biggest news of the Q/A was the confirmation on the fact that Base classes will Branch out for Jobs.
So for Arcanist you can change to Summoner OR Scholar I wonder what other jobs we will see from our current base classes. wtf is an Arcanist?
