Posting this here since I can't seem to get help with it anywhere else, including the official Terraria forums and the Terraria mod forums.

I have tried to install about 6 different mods to Terraria over the course of my Terraria career, and NONE OF THEM WORK. I even follow all the instructions TO THE T. Nothing works, when I launch the game its the same vanilla Terraria, I never see the TConfig options or anything.

I think the culprit is this runtime error I get when I install TConfig and GameLauncher:

After I click ok, the installation appears to finish normally and it says succeeded, but apparently not as I cannot get jack to work properly.

I run Windows 7 Professional (we ordered Home and they sent us Professional), I have tried putting the installers in the Terraria directory, that doesn't work still get the error.

I have tried getting help with this for about a year now, to no avail. Please and thank you.

I am particularly interested in 2 mods:

Omnir's FF mod and this:

Some useful information would be the exact instructions you followed and the version of tConfig/GameLauncher you downloaded.

Also is steam/terraria open at all while you're trying to install? Which are you trying to install first. Have you tried reinstalling Terraria at all?

Just did an install of GameLauncher and tConfig, working fine. I'll start messing with the actual mods in a second.

tConfig: Latest Download link located here.

GameLauncher: Latest Downloa dlink located here.

If these aren't the latest version, or not what you used, please point me in the right direction.

The most recent install instruction I followed are located here. I have tried a few other sets of instructions the last time I trid to setup a mod, but that was at least a few months ago.

I think Steam was running in my taskbar when I tried installing tConfig/GameLauncher.

All instructions I've read said to install GameLauncher first, so that's what I've been doing.

So far the only thing I've done differently is not having steam open when I installed both and not pre-making a Modpacks folder (which isn't even needed seeing as it's made for you. You appear to have the correct versions as well.

I repeat my earlier question. Have you attempted reinstalling Terraria and trying again?

Also, I'm assuming you are directing the installation to the correct folder and that everything is being run as admin to eliminate possibility of silly little hold-ups.

About 4 times. I will redo everything this time without Steam open and see if that affects it.

Ok, still not working. What I did, in exact order:

~Uninstalled Terraria completely
~Reinstalled Terraria
~Closed Steam completely
~Ran GameLauncher Installer (as admin to make sure)
~Got same runtime error, setup "completely successfully"
~Ran tConfig Installer (as admin to make sure)
~Got same runtime error, setup "completely successfully"
~Installed Omnir's Modpack using the .exe files included in it's .ZIP
~Booted up Steam
~Ran Terraria

Vanilla start menu, no tConfig options.

When you're running Terraria there is no GameLauncher window with a tConfig option?

I'm not sure what's happening with that runtime error but it's definitely not installing correctly if you're not getting that window.

Nope, just plain 'ol Terraria menu.

Yeah, I've been confused as hell about this for over a year now. Google turns up jack ***about the runtime errors. The official Terraria forums and the Terraria Mod forums aren't helpful either.

Maybe upload and send me your Terraria folder? -shrug- Only thing I can think of to maybe fix this. I just want to play those 2 mods (Omnir's and Red Cloud), nothing else. That's all I'm trying to do here xD

On last ditch effort before I try uploading. Have you attempted running the installers from within your base Terraria folder? Documents/My Games/Terraria
