Not too much so since ARC could summon off the bat. And the Fairy summon will be doing support heals and DDing along with the SCH, who is AoE healing over time (Regen focus like in XI.) All in all I'm happy with these new jobs and their base class :o Also dat casting animation!
I'm really curious how the fairy BFF will fit into the job's lore. And more importantly, I better be able to name it.

Are jobs still tied to the weapon? I haven't really seen what's changed since the early days of 1.0.
Is there an Auction House yet?
The retainer system was essentially an AH, but the implementation of it was really clumsy. Hopefully, they're streamlining it.

Well, it still looks fantastic, I might decide to play a Black Mage until a Greatsword-using job (That isn't lolRUN) pops up.
Between FFXIV, TES:O and Destiny, 2014 is probably going to be the year I get man-***.

Felt kinda dumb using Braver earlier but this totally made up for it.

really wish they would've stuck with the movement and targeting style from XI, i always hated that dumb slowly turn in the direction you push, or slowly back away from the resident evil style. i'd far rather they keep it like you just automatically run in that direction like in XI, but i suppose i'll have to just get used to it. either way until i upgrade my video card this game will be unplayable :(

If you have legacy status, you get an option to let you do just that. :x Push the back button and you turn to move backwards.
My only qualm is that they still have not added an option to make tab cycle through all targets. It only targets enemies, meaning I will occasionally need to use my mouse to click on things. Other than that, I've been having a good time with phase 3 so far.

I know this is kind of a difficult thing for FFXI players to understand, but all your movement keys are configurable. You can get rid of turning and rebind those keys to strafe left/right. You can also enable legacy movement (you don't need legacy status for this option). This allows you to run backwards instead of back peddling.
i'll have to look into the legacy thing, if it reverts the movement back to 1.0 style that would be much better imo

Sorry, didn't mean to sound so condescending. It's just that in ffxi almost everything is hard programmed into the game :p
Anyways for the Legacy type movement settings you go to 'Character Configuration' and then to 'Control Settings' on the left side (the top red button). You can find 'Legacy Type' at the very top of that window.
