I got a new PC controller recently, sadly it is not supported by a number of the games I need to use it for. I was directed to a nifty program called XBOX360CE. Unfortunately I do not have the foggiest idea how to use it exactly. I mean, do I need to run the .exe from the directory the game is installed in?

The controller I have is a Steelseries 3GC.

Anyway, how do I use this program and does anyone know how to configure my controller for it so I can play the games I want to use it with (IE: Transistor, Hammerwatch, Bastion, etc). I googled it and looked over the official FAQ/Wiki for the program and was still confused.

Many thanks in advance~

Tried xbox360ce, motionjoy, and xpadder....nothing works v.v

The best I can do is get the face buttons and trigger/bumpers to work, but the analog sticks and the Dpad will not work.

Have you tried Joy2Key? it wouldn't be the most idle way to get it to work, but it would work.

The controller is a direct input only controller, I've honestly never tried to get one to work with an x-input only game, but I doubt it's much fun.

I'd toss the piece of ***junk controller and get a better one.

There is software that is supposed to come with it (or probably downloadable from there site) and that would probably be the best bet in getting it to work.

I haven't. I'll try that now.

Yeah, It was a downgrade from my old controller but its what was brought home when I told them to nab me a new controller. I should have just gotten one myself. But for now, until I get a new one, I'm trying to make this one work.

I tried the motion joy stuff awhile back, about a year later I found that the program was seriously harmful as it needs to stay online to work. Malwarebites disabled it completely when I ran a virus check, if it helps to look for any sort of emulation programs, try to find something that can convert the xbox controller into a "ps2" controller as the motionjoy settings only worked when the controller's analog sticks were set to digital inputs such as the ps2 controller.

There are ways to make motioninjoy offline, and to remove it's adware features, but it is adware.

He doesn't have an xbox controller (which is x-input) he has something more akin to a PS2 controller, and for the life of me, I've never had one not work with something, so either it's really crappy and needs the bloatware for it to function properly, or it's defective or just that newer games don't like direct-input devices, which is certainly possible, I just personally have yet to see it, and I'll be willing to admit if that's the case.

This isn't the same issue of trying to use a xbox/360/ps3 controller on a PC where it doesn't recognize the analog or treats the triggers as an axis, this is something else.

Logitech controllers by default have an x/d switch to convert between the two types, but unfortunately their build quality isn't the best in the world.

and if it gets to be too annoying there is always the knock off 360 controller you can get

http://www.amazon.com/Wired-USB-Controller-Xbox-360-white/dp/B00H8MDT9W/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1400952183&sr=8-7&keywords=XBox+360+controller

might be worth the 18 dollars to avoid all the *** pain

Yeah, gave up on these programs and we're getting some Wireless Gaming Receivers for our wireless controllers ($8 each)

just a warning: there's no easy way to get that working in direct-input mode properly (really only an issue for xi). I've yet to get it to work, there's xp and vista drivers, none for 7, and I couldn't get the vista64 to work for 7x64. I'm of course not talking about the official drivers either.
