How to clean pewter?
green clean is what you need , i stripped countless pewter figures with it for warhammer minis. pick it up at hardware store or craft shop.
heh, was just out earlier today and picked up some simple green. Haven't opened it yet tho.
![]() The worst that should happen is maybe the pewter gets a little darker. Nothing that should destroy the metal itself. Out of all the people I've known to use simple green, the absolute worst thing that they ever saw happen was when they forgot the minis and let them soak for DAYS longer than they should have been. If you're still not completely sure, just soak 1 of them in a bowl for maybe an hour or two first as a test. If it needs longer, go from there. If something does go wrong from the model being so old or some other something (which really shouldn't be an issue), then stop there and consider other options.
Oh, and right, air drying. Since it is only this dried out foam thats casts itself on to it, i was going to start very small anyway. |
