If you are not in an online party, you can just embark out in the world without a quest. You get an hour to do whatever you want then it will complete. If you are online with friends it won't let you leave without a quest flagged, BUT you can do one solo while your friends do a different one. You don't HAVE to stick together which is nice. 0232-8909-1018 So far, I've only been using Monk and Ranger as my jobs so I wouldn't be much use except as a DD. Trying to make a list of all the Mutations you can slap on MNK abilities I'm using. So I should be able to put out a list for Counter, Boost, Chakra, rising Phoenix, Genesis Light, Explosive Fists, Aura Cannon, and Magitek Lodestone.
Aw yeah. Full Paladin mastery set get! Love the way the back of it looks. I don't usually like capes. Now to spend six eternities upgrading it. How does upgrading work? Like is there a limit?

Ackeron said: » How does upgrading work? Like is there a limit? It's kinda complicated. There IS a limit but it takes a LOT of random materials to max out each bar on each piece. I was confused at first but it's easy once you realize. If you have like 6 items, you can do 1 upgrade in say, Physical Defense. So you would need to get 6 more items to do 1 more upgrade. I can't speak for anything other than Paladin or Knight but I can increase my gear's Physical Defense, Magical Defense, Physical Evasion, Magical Evasion, and Parry. Different crafting items give different upgrades. There are some rare crafting items (Such as encasing ifrit then USING ifrit) which can grant abilities to the armor. However you can only add 1-2 depending on the armor to each piece. I used 6 goblin spirits on my knight armor awhile back and it gave me +500 HP on my head. I didn't check to see if it could go further because I finally unlocked paladin. It's super in depth and you are going to spend lots of time and materials upgrading the stats on weapons AND armor in short. Also: I don't have Dark Knight mastery armor unlocked yet no :( Only Knight and Paladin since I'm stuck as the tank lol. Better than stuck healer though!~ After about an hour of grinding trying to see what my skills can do I've gotten this much done.
Warning Wall o Text. .......... Actually this should help in explaining armor upgrading. Notice my 4 bars on the top screen. These are the stats you can upgrade on the Paladin Mastery armor for the body piece only. I had enough random materials to max out Physical Evasion and Magic Evasion, but now i need to spend/find materials to upgrade Physical and Magical Defense. If you see the Petrified log I have selected, I need 10 logs for ONE upgrade. which will take the Magical Defense from 77 to 78 as indicated by the green number. Other materials can increase Magic Defense too, but this should help give a small insight on how many materials you have to blow through and earn to upgrade ONE piece. See the bahamut and odin at the top? Odin will give STR+1, and bahamut will give Defense+1. I don't yet know if I can encase more and more Odin and Bahamut and upgrade the stats higher. This doesn't even include using other items that give the armor an ability/trait. Pheonix appears to give it Absorb AP+1. I don't know if that means I'll steal AP with melee hits or what. This crafting/upgrading in this game is great though. Super in-depth. Also you get Load+5 on your Mastery gear which gives you more points to equip abilities which is nice. Back to grinding more materials I go X_X; EDIT: This process also costs a billion jillion CP. See how I have 4,204 in the screenshot? Yeah I just had over 100,000 before I made the Paladin armor set lol. Thanks. I'll add Clinpachi later on. I just solo'd Ifrit on Ranger with some Lv. 9 monster pets. Rough fight but doable. I tried a quest that requires killing 10 dragons. I got my rear kicked. Sorry if this has already come up. But is there a benefit to raising the difficulty on quests? (via those several options you get). Like more cp or gil or something?

Anyway, it's 3411-0916-9820 if anyone would like to add me. Currently just starting 7 Star quests and have found myself playing a lot of Sage (Holy is really good at farming lots of mobs). I played mostly Bard to get here, and I mostly heal on it. If anyone needs a healer and sees me around I'd be happy to team up. Seems like some Mutations have hard caps. Multi-hit on Genesis Light caps at 2 it seems. Not sure if the cap is the same for everything else as well.
2 things I've learned though. Multi-hit - each rank adds a hit and makes the move hit faster so you aren't animation locked for any longer. Confirmed Caps at Rank 2. Affinity Mutations - Seems like only the highest ranked affinity mutation triggers so it might not be worth it to stack them. Where are you getting multi-hit from? I don't see it in your post above
Multi-Hit - Fleeting Dream
Just picked this game up, loving it so far!
Jesus 7 Star quests take a step up big time I think I'll actually have to upgrade gear now lol.
I finally got red mage!
...Now I have no idea what abilities I should use with it. Ackeron said: » Jesus 7 Star quests take a step up big time I think I'll actually have to upgrade gear now lol. I hit 7 star last night too and I'm finally starting to struggle. Aberrant Dryad wiped the floor with me 2 times in a row before I got frustrated enough to stop for the night. I'm going to need my group badly for that one, she is VERY difficult solo if you have to be in melee range. Her poison is 400-500 damage a tic and it feels like it will fully kill you from 5000+ HP. I very much dislike Dryad......... I think I'm finally getting the hang of this. BLM is actually pretty cool in the lower levels. It feel almost invencible so far everything I've done between With access to Break, Barrier, and Drain and nuke spam.

Sounds like a job for a GLASS CANNON! :P On another note, I need some more BLM abilites... been wittling down my subquests a bit already over 100k CP and nothing yet I really wanna spend it on, I mean, I could unlock abilities for another job. But something is telling me to hold on to them, lol. Ranger is pretty great for things like Phoenix and Dryad (though I'm not to 7 star yet). Rarely get hit by their larger attacks... but they just love to fly/dig right out of range so a lot of the fight is still running back and forth so I can actually shoot them.
