Not really a full suggestion, but a by the way comment, if you guys had the time or people to add such things, I liked the way XIclopedia had some lore and etymology noted on some pages. Not sure if BGwiki has that stuff somewhere or not.
I know there are a few people around who like to know lore behind stuff.

This will have to be the first time I say no, but unfortunately I will not be adding the lore. It is simply not worth my time at all.

I am not satisfied with the trust page right now and I do want to expand it. I am leaning towards making individual trust pages similar to xiclopedia. This way all the data isnt crammed into the same page and we can hopefully eliminate the collapsing categories.
Also the part telling you to complete the Trust quest could probably go at the top instead of being in the acquisition information. The next line saying to trade the cipher to the NPC could go the same way.
So it would only be something like:

I like the layout of that guide. It obviously needs to be updated, but I still found it to be a good read. I had completely forgotten about the tatter system.

I have started going over all the untiy items. Some pages are blank, the rewards page (now moves to its own page) is missing newer items, the NPCs page now lists the materials you may buy with accolades (I didn't even know this was possible until today), items that spawn NMs in Escha are being noted at such, and notes are being made on pages for upgrading unity items.
This should be done in about a week.
As for the updated Returning to Vana'diel guide that is something that I get in the mood to work on and sit down typing away for hours. That will be done though. Hopefully within about two weeks.
In the meantime I am always happy to hear about things people need on the wiki that they do not have.

I underestimated the Unity project as that is a bit less than 500 edits total to do. So, as you can imagine that takes some time.
However, for the last couple weeks I have been averaging about 40+ edits a day (not including fixing mistakes I make, typos, etc) on the overall content and content quality for important things on the site. So things are on fire because Fae and Funk are also editing as well.
I should have an update announcement (guess that is what I am calling these) for you guys by about wednesday as I have some things to finish up and I am busy today and tomorrow.

I have finished my work on Unity Rewards! Which have also been split into two separate pages.
-There were in fact so many pictures that they stopped displaying.Weapons have been broken up into 5 categories instead of a massive list.
- I added a slot section to the template for easy sorting of accessories and and weapons so you can sort by the type of item in the rewards table.
- All missing items have been added to the tables.
All unity monsters, coffers, drops, and materials pages have been done. This is what took the majority of time.
- This does not mean every monster has information about their behavior on their page. That remains unchanged, but there are good pages like Sovereign Behemoth.
Funkworkz has completed work on the REAM pages. They now interlink in that cool box and all have information on them.
The update may have just landed, but we are already up to date on the new Ambuscade Rewards, Mounts, and new synthesis items from a couple days ago.
- Thanks to Funkworkz and Faequeencory.We have a new Master Trials page for the brand new 2100 JP and 500 merit point fight; Black and White.
- We expect more of this sort of content to come.
We now have some new templates for HELM (including Mog Garden), Reive Rewards, etc. I have added them to my Spicy Sandbox. This helps close any gaps for certain information that has been lacking in the past such as
- I will be making a few more for treasure caskets and stuff in the future.
- I will probably take my messy sandbox and turn it into an Editing BG Wiki for Dumbies guide.
This way anyone can take a simple template, enter in a few works, and have a whole table of information made with little to know wiki experience.Various additions to pages and other things I forget.
Usability Imporvements:
- This is what you really want to see even if the above still falls under this category.
BG Wiki is now the most friendly wiki for new and upcoming GEO and RUNs.
Redirects to all the AF 1, 2, and 3 pages.
- Type in GEO or RUN Artifact Armor, GEO or RUN Relic Armor, and GEO or RUN Empyrean Armor to be directed to the correct pages.
All of the quest NPC pages and quest pages have been added or refined.
- Tables added, monster pages made, testimonials transferred from random pages to discussion pages, and information greatly enhancedEvery single material that is used in forging GEO and RUN AF 1, 2, and 3 has been linked to the corresponding page of that material.
I plan on preforming similar usability improvements to other jobs.
For some reason the NM Empyrean Weapon materials (Sobeks Skin, etc) only contained the NM that drops it and the items to pop it. I went ahead and remedied that for all Empyrean Weapons. They now link to their pages which all have contained their trials for years (I am pretty sure all do).
Various other tweaks and improvements across the board!
As always we appreciate your feedback in this thread to let us know what you think needs the most work.

- This is now my first and foremost project. I received a PM about this today, and someone may have already beaten me to the punch. Stay tuned.Funk and I talked today, and while we know you love the BG blue, but we both agreed we need to collaborate on the color scheme.
- No this is not a change like you saw before where we went from light blue and white to dark blue and 50 shades of grey, but a change to the templates for quests, NPCs, monster drops, etc to be different header colors. So every table is a bit different.NPC Wares
- I am always getting sidetracked into these. Things are better than they used to be, but you are all aware this is the weakpoint of the wiki.Funkworkz Talk Page has various ongoing projects.

I've been looking at the wiki, then at this thread and felt like making minor contributions that hopefully will add up to a more usable wiki that's not incredibly full with adds. Turns out I had to register in the BG forums to do that, so I did. I wanted to share some brainfarts about the wiki there, but it won't let me post links, the lifeblood of wikidom, without 10 posts there, so I'm doing that here:
Consider adding an "absolute upgrade" (superior stats, more jobs covered, etc...) links section, when applicable, in pages like equipment or food to make it quicker to check if there's something better with no downsides. Mostly to help decide if an older or lower-level item is worth disposing of by selling it, dropping it, or handing it to some NPC who'll give you something like bayld for it.
Stat+ and Stat- categories (ex: all items with STR+5 would be covered by Category:STR+5, all items with Evasion-3 would be covered by Category:Evasion-3, assuming Wikimedia's notation permits it) - then linking to the highest/lowest category for a given stat would make it easier to find best-in-slot items for a given purpose, which would be simpler than maintaining a table of items with stuff like the highest Blue Magic skill stats. It's a bit of a rough idea, admittedly, but could be useful, especially if the categories were then linked to from the page for the corresponding stat.
Polar/Pyric Bulwark distiction - from what I read these are supposed to be 2 different Hydra family moves, but the page for one is a redirect for the other. I read there was a name change a while ago, but I think both moves exist and do different things? To add to the confusion, it's not really clear if there's any mob/NM of that family that does use whichever one of those is supposed to be learnable by BLUs, as "classic" Hydra is often not listed in pages out there about the spell (why yes, it's my next one in line)...
As a side note either the BLU spell pages or the mob family pages could mention something about which mobs are the exception when it comes to learning a spell from them...
The main wiki page's category is Food, but I can't find Main Page in the Category:Food list, odd...
There's a great google docs document out there with info on trusts - how legit would it be to bring its content to bgwiki? (I don't even know who's maintaining the doc)

I consider this about the same thing. While they are both good ideas, it is just too much work to list those things out. I always assume people are using FFXIAH's Power Search feature to find STR+ gear for instance. The only flaw with that system is that it doesnt list augments. That's why we need to be sure that all augments are properly listed/linked on the wiki side.

I was actually talking with arcon about a ffxidb fix last week and it was about ready for testing. Think he got sidetracked when the update came out, but I would expect it to be up relatively soon.
