The assumption is that Amelilas mods are too large, I've made smaller versions of their mods to fix this issue.
If you check the first post in the thread, at the bottom you'll see smaller versions of their mods you can replace. I'm guessing you are having it in zones like Reisen and Lower Jeuno?

Is there anyone who has XIPivot working on Ashita who could take a look at some screenshots and tell me what the hell I'm doing wrong? XD
"/pivot s" shows me the correct overlay, and I've got it set up ROM/45/32.DAT, but it doesn't work. Manually swapped out the dats and can confirm that it should work, but my pivot seems to be busted somehow?
I think it calculates the overlays when you start the addon, if you add the dats after it's running it doesn't know they have been changed. Try turning xipivot off and back on again.

Oh no, I wasn't adjusting anything while it was running. I was completely shutting down FFXI/Ashita between attempts.

For anyone using XIPivot on Ashita, the current version has a bug that if you don't specify the root path in your config file, it doesn't work for some or all users.
I worked with Heals to troubleshoot this. I'm hoping they'll update XIPivot to address that issue in the future. ^^

Hey Kireek? Or anyone else who might know. I'm extracting some dds files via ChangeTex and one of them is coming across as a mostly transparent image. Have you encountered that issue before? It was a whole slew of similar dats but this one out of all of them is just coming out transparent.

Depending on what you're editing some textures are semi transparent yeah, I'm not really sure why they do it on non zone textures (maybe it saves some space in ram for ps2 I've not been able to find out), but when skinning zones they use semi-transparent areas to blend textures together. When I re-texture zones the alpha has to be re-applied, for everything else I never bother and it doesn't seem to matter.
When you pull a texture with changetex you need to use another program to flatten it (remove alpha.

Load that into gimp or photoshop, edit and then save as dds

I was wondering if you could do all of the BRD REMAs in HD dats, it would be nice to see Daurdabla, Gjallardhorn, Marsyas, and Carnwenhan shiny and beautifully redone. And thank you very much for all of the wonderful HD dats you have beautifully redone.

Both really, depending on the base texture. Something like the circular stones in bastok markets can't really be replaced so you have to enhance that one but others can be replaced with a suitable texture.
Amelila makes really artistic and higher quality mods (the offset to this being they are very large so increase loading times), they make new signs from scratch etc. For me I just want to make things look a bit better with as small a file increase as possible.

Someone mentioned that they think windower addon Target Info maybe causing the black-screen issues, I've never had the blackscreen issue but it's something to test if you get them and the smaller versions of Amelilas mods don't fix it.

actually I am working on a HD retexture of windurst water, It will be mostly an IA upscaled texture mod(with AI gigapixel and AI Sharpen) but with more realistic texture enlay into the vanilla texture.
the result is just excellent, realistic and faithful to the original and it's very easy to do.
but it will be a very HD mod, most of the texture with but 8 times bigger than the original, some of them 16, and only few element will be only upscaled 4 times.
When I will release the mod, I will release the final version (I finished it in febuary)of my Reshade preset.
for this final version, I have personalised the shaders using real world picture of landscape as reference(desert, canyon, forest, snow, daytime, sunset, dawn, night ) to mimic the most realistic aspect into FFXI.
the preset use 5 custom shaders not included into vanilla reshade, i'll post them with the preset.
the only issue with this realistic preset is it's ask a powerful PC(2014/15 gamer config minimum), my old PC (2012 gamer config) can only run it in 720p (in 1080, it run at 15 FPS at best) so I created a version of this preset for lower config (on my 2012 PC, I can run it in 1080 with FPS around 25), it will be released too.
If you have a 2015 gamer config however, you can run it 1080/30 FPS (but no 60 FPS hack, even on my newer PC, a 2017 gamer config around of the power level of a PS4 pro, I can only run it at 45 FPS)

I did this one a bit different, the basic mod folder has HQ mods for all races so you can just use that alone if you want.
However if you want an even clearer mod for your race only (since scythe is so big and it's on your back) there is an additional folder "ZZ Your race only (use 1 dat)", inside there you can copy the dat for your race only which is HQ2 (larger res). So by using the mod folder it adds hq1 mods for all races and hq2 is a single dat for your race only.

Anyone notice a CTD for Ru'Lude? Its only place I crash and can't figure out why its happening. Only thing I can think of is HD mod. Usually happens when I get close to the stairs near HP. I'm usually running to HP or SG when it happens.

Are you using XIpivot? That makes it really easy to disable mods.
The only mod I know can cause a CTD in this thread is the femina mod on the last page.
If it happens when running or about to run down the stairs south then I can give you a few dats to try (although they don't crash for me)
In the first post:
HD Misc items (minor update) has hd mods for the elevator and books, the originals are also in there to change back to originals to test.
The other to try is homepoint crystal mod, also on the first page which you can change back to originals in the zip to test.

When you click the download link, click the white arrow top right to download the file.

Southern San d'oria mod
This is a rework of Amelilas HD mod, I reduced the size from 62 meg to 36 meg, so it loads faster when you zone. (almost all the textures in southern sandy were made by Amelila as were a lot of the textures in the side rooms).
Fixed a problem with the small bushes.
Changed the clouds back to vanilla (if you use uncompressed textures in the ffxi config these look better imo)
Updated a few textures including doors and the spiral floor texture from the lower jeuno mod.
Changed the tent texture, was causing shimmering.
Updated all the side rooms.
If you just want to use the sandoria mod but not the others just use the 31.dat.

Since Amelila didn't finish it I decided to do Port Sandoria, most of the textures are from Amelilas S and N Sandoria mods so all the 3 zones will look the same.
Original file size = 6.5 MB
Modded file size = 18.5 MB
Should be no issues with black-screen etc since the file size is still pretty small.

Due to this being a busy zone I had to lower some of the textures below what I wanted them to be, but given these zones are multi-file and the game loads different parts as you run around I had to make compromises to make sure it runs well. The skybox remains white, I can't change that (escha also has no day / night cycle)

For anyone that uses Amelilias San d'Oria mods.
It bothered me that north used different grass to south, so I swapped the one from south into north. Now they both use the same grass texture.
This is all Amelilas work, I just swapped a single texture from their other mod into this one.

Optimized and updated Amelilas Gustaberg South and North mods.

The files in folder rom/92/ are the original (bump maps) dats and are much smaller, if you installed Amelilas original you will need to intall these originals too (or just delete the updated ones and use the originals).
Zone times should be massively faster (and any issues with black screen should be gone too), also the initial flyover won't pause to load anymore when it shows gusta before character select.
I made the grass less green so it looks more fitting to the surroundings and made the pathways lighter so they stand out more.
