No I had a brain fart, you can obviously equip Akatos AND Bayeux Bullet.
For some reason I thought of Bayeux conflicting with Akatos in the ranged slot.
That makes no bloody sense, how did I even think that for a moment lol? I apologize!

You don't use a gun for Savage blade on Ranger anyways, so the bullet doesn't make sense for RNG. There's a bow for that
Asura.Vitellius said: » Even on ranger you lose the weapons skill arrow for SB when you equip the bullet. I really wanted an Erp. True, but RNG could use bayeaux arrow for 20 STR and enmity-50, if you are concerned about enmity. Not as potent as the 20% WSD, but it's a bit of a mix. Though you need a different prime for that I, for one, don't regret getting Earp for COR. Ranged physical DD isn't the most common thing you do on COR, but it is far and away the best physical ranged tool in the toolkit and made a significant difference on Arebati. It's a nice option to have for the rare cases where you need it. For the dedicated COR who wants to be BIS for every situation, it's an important piece of kit. If you're a casual COR who doesn't find themselves in those kinds of situations, give it a miss. Depends on your level of interest/investment and what you typically do on COR You're right it was a bit unclear. I meant it gives you capped -enmity, which makes savage a bit better in terms of enmity.
Arguably the dex helps with dmg consistency a bit given Cor's lack of natural accuracy. What situations and fights is Wildfire and Last Stand used? I'm wondering if I can get away with just having SB and Leaden sets.

Unless you have a prime, Last Stand is the best physical WS you can use. It also closes Light for Savage Blade, so that's quite useful. With Fomalhaut you can make double Light. Wildfire is mostly just used to close double Darkness, but it can be used in some rare cases for the damage. Last time I did this was meme strats against Zerde. It's not very good, but the SC property is unique so you really can't get by without it, in certain content. EverlastingFFXI said: » What situations and fights is Wildfire and Last Stand used? Soooo I've been gone for like 5 years, how much gear do I have to catch up on
Pretty much all of it. Don't know how to itemize it for you.
Asura.Suteru said: » Soooo I've been gone for like 5 years, how much gear do I have to catch up on Without knowing what you had before you returned, the short list of stuff to acquire (assuming you had at least a serviceable COR before): Nyame set R20+ Gleti's Knife (R20+. an incredible offhand if you don't have Crepuscular Knife) Ikenga's set (low priority, but the body is the best, R25+) Empyrean +2/3 set (400k Gallimaufry, so like ~10 runs of 8-boss) Relic +4 (feet/body are good/upgrades) Artifact +4 (nothing incredible stands out, but WSD body is good if no Nyame and an easier/faster upgrade than Ikenga's Vest) Work at it as you go: Murky Ring, Alabaster Earring Buukki's list is great, also adding:
The Limbus armor is INSANE for COR. I'd prioritize feet, head, body. Null accessories from the Cloud of Darkness HTBF TVR rewards I think Earp is very nice for COR, especially completionist COR. Probably more stuff both of us are forgetting. Side note but I have Gleti's & Crep Knife and I very rarely use Crep. Gleti's SB II, massive attack, and other stats really push it above Crep for me most of the time. Last thing anyone that has been out for 5 years needs is to look at the prime weapon grind. Ignore earp.
Start with empy +3 which is soloable, get some help with nyame and other ody NM clears. This may be a stupid question, but what are the weaponskills used in Sortie. I'm trying to build a "just for sortie" Cor to make the GS easier for me to handle and if I can trim it down to just a set of WSs I think I can do it.
For WS, savage blade, leaden for B objectives, hot shot optional for some bosses. Quick draws for fast procing of elements and free tp.
Dodik said: » Last thing anyone that has been out for 5 years needs is to look at the prime weapon grind. Ignore earp. For many people, sure, but it really varies on a case-by-case basis. I've had several players coming from massive breaks join my group and go from absolutely no muffins to getting 80k+ a night basically overnight. Not saying it's all that likely, but it's certainly possible and even 8 boss runs at ~60k means you can get a stage 4 (with the bullet for -50 enmity) in 3 months or less. It's not an unrealistic "within the first year of returning" goal. It's not a goal anyone without empy +3 should be looking at, regardless how realistic it would be if they spent all their points on a weapon.

Sure, he shouldn't immediately go straight into an Earp while ignoring empy, obviously. Nobody, including and especially me, suggested that. We're making a list of things that came out in the past 5 years that would interest a COR, not a list of things you must instantly dedicate all of your resources into. This list was clearly a set of long term goals (v20 and v25 kills included, etc. and not something that will be done overnight. Earp fits quite well in a list like that. Put another way: if this was mentioned in the SAM thread: Quote: Soooo I've been gone for like 5 years, how much gear do I have to catch up on Are you not gonna even mention to the man that kusanagi exists? To...save him from his impulses or something? Idk, weird take, to me. Dodik said: » For WS, savage blade, leaden for B objectives, hot shot optional for some bosses. Quick draws for fast procing of elements and free tp. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in order to properly do both Leaden and Hot Shot, I would need to swap guns, thereby needing different WS modes? I was trying to avoid that. Not to mention Savage Blade wants the TP gun... Tarage said: » Correct me if I'm wrong, but in order to properly do both Leaden and Hot Shot, I would need to swap guns, Hot shot is optional, can skip it. Leaden with TP gun works fine for B objectives, it will still hit for cap with a good set. yes, I have a few weapon sets I use for sortie:
1. path b rostam + death penalty for B objective multi stepping (Leaden => Wasp Sting => Leaden) (can do sword too, but I like the dagger) 2. naegling + anarchy +2 (anarchy is such a pirate name, Ataktos stupid) for savage spam. 3. path b rostam + fomalhaut for Hot Shot on C/G/A/E bosses. Edit: Quote: it will still hit for cap with a good set. Unless your geo is with you on elementals that is not an expectation you should have. It will still do enough dmg to close your SC and kill the elemental. Don't expect 99ks on leaden with TP gun, sure.
Male moving goal posts to not admit being wrong? No wei. Earp is priority no. 999 out of 1000 for a cor. This is the cor thread not the Sam thread. I'm usually between 40-50k as I'm multi-stepping them. The number of people that speak as if they just drop 99k on every bit of content at the drop of the hat is just staggering to me. Ehh, he may have misspoke, or his experience may be different, but his larger point was that you can/should be able to 3-step any elementals just the same with TP B gun. I did a video a while back SC Elementals; I didn't 99k any of the elementals either, but dead is dead for the objective. I think is what he meant.
video https://youtu.be/rCV3_IKon4M?si=1csv_BdpfBxSNhYR What Buuki said. You don't need leaden to do 99k. You need it to close a three step with a strong enough leaden to kill an elemental with barely over 100k hp total. Which a tp gun will do just as well as any other gun.
But sure, miss the point entirely just to ackshually nitpick tp gun won't always hit 99k. I mean.. |
